Christmas Shopping for Ladies along the Panhandle

Market Days is a huge craft show that's held in Tallahasee every year. I've gotten some cool stuff from there, but they are not cheap usually. These artists are quite proud of their creations!! If you've ever been to Mule Day in S. Georgia, it is like that, but on a more elegant scale. Here is their flyer

Thanks Regina, Yes Missy it's pretty cool they only come once a yr. Saturday and Sunday. But, if they run out of stuff on Saturday there's nothing for Sunday. So, we always go first thing Saturday morning and get the good stuff. My life is so busy too during Christmas it's CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!! hope to see ya soon.

Shopping Day is Saturday, December 11th. We can begin at Grand Boulevard at 10 a.m., then proceed west to Silver Sands Factory Outlets, and then Destin Commons. If there is still time we could go further west to Fort Walton Beach to the Santa Rosa Mall. I will get more direction details out to y'all this week.

I need to double check on the opening time of Grand Boulevard. If they are opening earlier during the season, would y'all be willing to hit it a little earlier? Let me know what time (central time zone) would be the earliest y'all would want to get over here.

I can start by 9 or 9:30. Could I suggest though that if we have more time after Destin Commons, that instead of heading further west, we could make our way back east to Pier Park? That way I wouldn't have to leave as early to make my Christmas party.

Okay, we are going to begin at Destin Commons and work our way back toward the east ending up in PCB at PierPark. DestinCommons, Silver Sands Factory Outlets, Grand Boulevard, and then on to PierPark. Depending on time and location there are several places to have lunch along the way. Also depending on time, since some have plans for the night and will need to get home and get ready, we may lose shoppers one at a time. I will have to surrender at about 4 p.m. so that I can get ready. Looks like there's only the 3 of us...or maybe 5 if Camaro camera girl and cruisingcamaro comes.

BTW, Tusk will be nearby for security.

We do not have to stick to this, if we decide to go AWOL, so be it! There’s a Best Buy, Old Navy, an Old Tyme Pottery, Beall’s, an Antiques shop, Barnes & Noble, Michael’s, PetSmart and Ross in town as well if anyone is interested.

Destin Commons-
That is across 98 from our Destin Meet n Greet where the Bass Pro Shop is. The entrance to Bass Pro looks straight down the main drag of the commons. We will park and meet there on the main drag. Bass Pro Shop opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Belk opens at 8 a.m. so we will have an hour to hit those first. The remaining stores open at 10 a.m. (Just a word of caution, our women’s department at Belk is not as good as the other Belks I have been to. The shoes are okay, men’s clothing is okay and they have an abbreviated home section. It’s always worth a look though. You never know what you will find.) I was hoping there would be more stores open at 9 a.m., but, boy! was I wrong. Everything else seems to open at 10 a.m. (Not many of our retailers really have consistent ‘holiday’ hours. )

Destin Commons has Bass Pro, Belk, Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, bebe, Cache’, Chico’s, Vic’s Secret, Wms-Sonoma, Yankee Candle, White/Black, Books a Mill, & lots more. Tropical Smoothie has a little breakfast menu and there’s a Starbucks as well.

Silver Sands Factory Outlets-
SS has a few of the same stores that the Commons does, but by and large there is a big difference. BCBG, Calvin Klein, Allen-Edmonds, Bass, Baby Gap, Bose, Coach, Cole-Haan, CorningWare, Dooney & Bourke, Dress Barn, Eddie Bauer, Easy Spirit, Gap, Heartstrings, Izod, JCrew, Jockey, Jones New York, Juicy Couture, Nautica, Nike, Reebock, Polo, Hilfiger, …..and so much more. I could go on and on. There’s a Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Cheeseburger in Paradise for sit down lunch and a Sidewalk Café and Pizza place for a quicker lunch.

Grand Boulevard-
Magnolia House, Orvis Company, Tommy Bahama’s, Vic’s Secret, Nail Salon (if we need to ‘reward’ ourselves for a job well done-LOL), Billabong, J.Crew @ the Beach, Sunglass Hut, Coldwater Creek, J.Jill, Chico’s…..
There is also some good eats… Cantina Laredo, Fish Market, P.F. Chang’s, Johnny Rocket’s, an ice cream shop, Chocolate shop YUM!

PierPark-
I’ll have to defer to our PCB folks… I’ve only been there the once. So I know there’s a Dillard’s that won’t let you take a picture from their roof and some movie theatre with a panther on the side. That’s about all I remember…Oh, Longhorn and a cookie place. Yea.

That should give us a full day. Come with empty trunks and full wallets. What do y’all think?
