A 45 degree angle is a 1:1 slope much steeper than people think. Meaning for every foot of vertical movement the driveway would drop in elevation 1 foot. Now that is a steep driveway .

We go stay in a friend of ours' cabin once or twice a year, and his driveway is somewhere between 35 and 45 degrees. It is SCARY going down it. I did not scrape, though, even in my camaro... It is a gradual slope, unlike that picture. I may have a picture I can upload when I get off work.

Wow, that doesn't even seem practical. From the road it looks like anything would scrape, but not as intimadating in the picture going into the garage.
So those pics are a 45' driveway? Pretty close at least.

^^^That picture is an abrupt change from level to the incline, mine is not, and I have a side entry garage, so at the top in front of the garage doors it's nearly level, otherwise I would NOT have bought the lot. I couldn't imagine having to wash my cars on the street.

EDIT: Yes, entering the garage would be a nightmare. My turnaround area is straight ahead at the top of mine, and you basically have to just go straight and hope you're positioned properly. On the incline you're looking at the sky, you can't possibly see the road ahead!

The front spoiler of my vette is all shredded up. Lil Texas offroading. But it can't even make it up to the gate of the west Texas family ranch, I have to take the truck.

Doah looked at those pics. Uh.. they should not even of allowed the builder to do that.

Those pics are crazy. If you own that house, you absolutely have to own an SUV or truck. I can't think of a single car that could get in that garage.

Whoever designed that housing tract with those inclines should be sued for gross stupidity. Even with flooding or planning for some disaster I do not see the logic of such a poor design.

I'm thinking the Blur "your dealer is an idiot" statement replaced with contractor or developer.

If its gradual, then what are you worried about? never the less, I figure the breakover angle is around 11 degrees.
