Garber Chevrolet is also has GMS and any other incentives available to Camaro buyers. We have 8 left to order before they start pulling cars to build here soon. Let us know if we can help. We are located in Midland, MI. Roughly the middle of the state.

Thanks,

Matt

Yea, profit margin is higher for clothing retail. However the net profit is lower since the goods are much less. Also you're thinking of some designer tie. If you're going to do that you need to be comparing it to Ferraris, not Camaros. You can go pick up a no-name tie for $5 at Ross.

I'm not a math wizard but most ties cost less than $2.00 to produce (even designer ties) so when they sell from $30 to $200, I would say that's a super huge markup.

Gonna word pick me to death aren't you?

Point is simply this, The Government will see more profit from your car than the dealer will.

90% of people don't want to let or care if a dealer makes $100

99% of all consumers don't give a rats that a salesperson may only sell 10 cars a month at $100 per car because of the consumer mentality of "Invoice" or better.

99% of consumers don't care if a dealership stays open for the next 60 days

89% of consumers will ditch their previous salesperson over $200 on the next purchase without a second thought.

99.9% of consumers will tip a hair stylist $10 or so but wouldn't give their saleperson a cupon for a free whopper.

etc. etc.

[QUOTE=City Chevrolet;249093]Gonna word pick me to death aren't you?

we are camaro lovers man

BTW my uncle was a salesman for a very small Dealership here in MI...He was just let go.....I know all about the margins and profits. It is tough. Again we understand you have to do what you have to do.

No fault to yours - the buyer these day has a lot of information before they come through your door...atleast most car buyers

You read some of the other posts about some buying experiences for some on the camaro and it is sicking...especially the one guy for the first time buying an american made car and the dealership told him 2000 above MSRP for Dealership fees etc...again WTF.....poor guy not from this contry and they saw him coming....

I loved your comparison to buying a tie and a $38,000 camaro....really I LOL

No hard feelings and good luck with car sales....I trully mean that.....I know it is a tough business...BTW I work comercial construction in design build and trust me it is tough everywhere....
i'm in the same boat.... i was surprised my dealer not only offered msrp but on top of that gsu for me...

that's knocking off around 10% the cost of my car that i was planning on paying.

you know what it equates to?

i'm ordering the cold air intake, shorties, and cat back exhaust lpo parts... money right back to them.

city chevy, no offense taken... i compeletly get where your coming from. soon enough the econmy will swing back up and things will go back to the sellers hands, and then the buyers and so on and so forth.

GMS is a discount on cars for the GM worker or retired worker for their immediate family and some affiliates. Put I am sure one of the dealereships can explain eligibility to you.....Heck I know at some points Ford and their dealerships are offering their employee plan to anyone....they are doing everything they can to move cars. GM did it a few times too...but I would not expect that on this car if you are not eligible...key work eligible

and to further clarify how it works with a credit union, what you agree upon a price with your dealer is one thing...

how you pay for that is another.

once you've got your price set (msrp, incentives, etc) then you choose which route you'd like to go about paying for the car ie for you a credit union.

Well this salesman at Pontiac (when i was looking at the G8GT) informed me that I can get supplier price if I belong to certain credit unions.
I did some google research and found that this is the case.

I saw those prices but the parts manager could not confirm it.....he said the pricing sounded reasonable but he had to dig deeper into it. Get his costs and numbers from GMPP.
