I think we've all been waiting long enough for this car. I'm very disappointed with this decision, although I understand that GM has to pursue other interests at this time.

Gone to the scrap heap - only for motor shows!
It's ashame because the feedback in Australia from the local GM and Ford forums was, 'if you make it we will buy it'.
Interesting, we don't have a two door muscle car in Australia now after they finished up with the Monaro in 2005 - something wrong with that!

That sucks!

The car was developed in some part (Actually... maybe a LARGE part) by folks there, they should get to enjoy it too!!

Hell I know some folks in Australia, I'd push them to buy one

Perhaps they think that it would be too brash of a car?

That's the main reason that this decision disappoints me, but GM will make sure that the Camaro makes its way over there eventually.

y'all do realize that because this car is built in North America, delivery to the countries closest to its origin only makes sense, right? and that if this car had historically been an Australian car, it would probably be being produced in Oz first.

its simply a matter of production and demand... the car has a HUGE cult following in North America, so it only makes sense to start the deliveries there and then deliver to the world as time wears on.

if i had to guess why, it would be because they dont have the $$ right now to gamble, they know it will sell like hot cakes here in the US, no need to try it out elsewhere just yet and have to pay for twice the advertising etc...

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

We can drive LHD here but it can be a pain for parking/overtaking (not that it's bothered me, I've owned 5 or 6 LHD cars). But it would make a difference to sales if we only got a LHD model (the Corvette has suffered).

In any case, a 2011 model would still hit my road around May 2010 - when it was supposed to. So I'll worry when I hear more...

just get one and drive left ... I don't see a big problem here. Many Rolls Royce's here in France (I mean old collection ones) are right hand drive ... so what?

It's not legal in Australia to drive LHD... so that's a big problem. Here, that's fine IF (BIG IF) you don't mind having no warranty or support. I do mind so much but it's not quite the same as a brand spanking new car from a dealer here (UK).

I wonder what's the stupidest thing .... making LHD illegal, or being part of the 4 or 5 countries driving right hand?

common, make something to make this change. LHD in UK, japan, india, australia AND bring the metric system in the USA ...

these differences are just crazy in today's world
