Do I need an ECM update before FI?

Most dealers have this same policy. The only way around it is to say that you had the problem that the update would fix.

I can tell you with the Whipple it will not work there is a table that is not in the old operating system, magnussons tune would not address that. Perhaps w/ it being a smaller blower it doesn`t move as much air and the car can compensate, but I can tell you if you have not had the update of the os w/ a whipple any vin below mine will not work period, not matter the tuner, they can`t add that table, only GM can w/ the update.

My car was production #1744. It car was one of the very first cars in NJ. I am good friends with a dealer and he hooked me up. Maybe I have just been lucky but for the Maggie installation, step one was to re-flash the ECM. I have never experience any problems before or after the install..... I hope I dont! Should I be alarmed???

No, if you had the issue I have or 2L82RUN it would have already shown up. I would assume either the Maggie doesn`t use stock GM MAP, or something in the setup is different.
