Go with the Black Faded Gills from http://www.autotrimdesign.net !

Here's a few Threads that discuss the Black Faded Side Gills :

because every time i saw the gills the were either solid black,

you can get those on ebay for around 15 for the solids and $20 for the end to middle fades

mine are solid at the back and fade towards the front,

they were about $60 ,but besides painting they looked the best,to me anyway.

just my .02
You could of saved some money if you got the Faded Black Gills from http://www.autotrimdesign.net they are only $27.95 .They are in my opinion the best looking side gills out ..

But I do agree with you that the painted on faded gills do look really nice too!

Some members on this forum got theirs from them and like them a lot .

believe me,i tried to save some money LOL
but couldnt find the exact gills i got for any less than $59

the gills for $27 are the same as the ones on ebay for $12-$15
they are darker on the (top and bottom) ends and fade lighter toward the middle.

mine are the slp black/fade rear quarter gills.

heres a comparison...

pic on the red car is the ones for $27 (same as the ones on ebay)

pic on the yellow car are the slp ones that i have (sadly they are $59)

Great info thanks.
Two questions:
  • Did you do the Dry or Wet method to install?
  • Did you prep the surface to remove any wax?
Thanks

im waiting until spring after i get my stripes installed to wax it ,

so they dont need to strip the wax off when putting on the stripes.

I wondered this too when I saw that picture in red. Always thought it was just an optical illusion that they looked darker on the top and bottom. The close-up looks right. Can anyone confirm this who actually have them installed? So where did you get your $60 ones from?

OP: I have an IBM too and am still wondering which color would go best.
Since the angle of the flat areas are different from the rest of the fender they do stand out on the reflective IBM.
