But the major disadvantage of waiting for roadside service is time. As your post explains, you spent the better part of half a day dealing with your flat.
Installing a spare (if it had one of course) is easy and you should be on your way again in 15 minutes.

This is not quite accurate, at least as far as the 20 inch wheels are concerned.

There is a thread on here somewhere in which the dealer serviced a car, and put the fronts on the rear, and the rears on the front. Guy drove it like that for some time...No harm, no foul...

Got the wheel and tire insurance too. Already paid for one plug. Will be nice when it pays for an entire tire when the time comes..

So who paid for the Flatbed Towtruck... OnStar.. If so that's pretty cool...

I'm still thinking a 10 min jack and 5 lugs would be a hell of a lot easier...

Personally I would not want to plug these tires. I would have it patched from the inside.Do not think you want a plug coming out at 100 + mph not that I have ever gone that fast!

or vice versa, though the back wheel tire combo will certainly take up more space... And remember, neither will fit in the spare tire hole in the trunk. The battery is there...

I was told at the dealer (take it with a grain of salt) that the RS package came with bigger back rims and could not be interchanged. That was the only reason I did not get the RS package. Never being able to rotate would mean they would wear out quicker, and in the long run cost a lot with these tires. The non RS are suppose to have the same size tire.

If you look around in the tire/rim area of the fourm many SS or RS guys swap rims w each other. I.e. I give you my 2 20x9" rears for your 20x8" fronts So now I have x4 20x8" fronts on my camaro you have x4 20x9" rears on yours. The different sizes wont rub or cause any issues what so ever.

If anyone has a RS with the midnight silver rims I want to get your rears and I will give you my minty fronts!

Light weight jack, lug wrench, and one 20x8 w/245/45-20 in my trunk in the event of an emergency is the way I'm going.

The SS spare tire kit is the way to go. Within 30 minutes you are mobile again and can limp home, go to a dealership or check into a motel. The SS spare kit fits perfectly in the tire well above the battery. I only want to be towed in a true emergency, always a chance of damage to your Camaro. True peace of mind with my spare tire kit.
Merry Christmas to all !!

charging $40 for a tire plug should get you thrown in butt-ram prison.

...hate to see what they would charge for a tire patch.
