The Vette can be a daily driver, there are simply more compromises of using a purpose built sports that way. Heck some people manage to use a Pontiac Solstice as a daily driver and it's one of the least practical cars out there. Most people simply want the convenience of having a vehicle with more utility for their daily driver. The Camaro isn't the most practical car in the world but it's not especially impractical either, while the Corvette crosses the line into what the vast majority of people do consider to be relatively impractical overall.

Let's look at the facts before we post them. I was more focused on the drivability in my answer. When you don't have a back seat and your car has that exotic shape, you actually end up with some impressive cargo room—enough space for Shunt and friends.

Tough choice. I think Camaro will be fresh and new for the first year, but soon you will see them everywhere.
Corvettes are and remain the true American sports car....the way prices are falling on them I may get one myself. |

as a daily driver, I love my C5 FRC... its good at what it does, which is get me and my railroad gear from point A to point B... and a regular C6 coupe is a little more practical since it has a larger cargo area.
if I was looking for a car to get looks in, I'd choose the Camaro... its new, its unique and its got alot more practicality... if I was just looking to go fast and have fun, the C6 is the way to go... since its an '08, its pretty much assured to have Bluetooth and all of the other stereo options the Camaro does (and possibly nav), its for sure faster in a straight line and in the corners and it comes with the bonus of being able to say "oh, sorry, I can't give you a ride... since this car is a two seater, me and my supermodel wife are the only ones that ride in it"

My Dad uses his C6 as a daily driver. That is all he has, even in winter in the Midwest. They both make good drivers. Get the car you want, not the car someone else wants you to get. I am faced with that same decision. I could get a used vette on the cheap, but I am looking for the newest engine (LS3), a manual trans, and I will need something to put kiddos in ONCE IN A WHILE. For me that rules out the vette, also I am in sales and it is hard to convince someone to spend more money with you when you are driving a vette. Most see it as unattainable. Funny they don't even thinkof Ferrari, Porsche Aston Martin, those cars. The Vette carries more cache with non-car people. my 2 cents.

You want two seats or four?
You want to be stopped every time you take your Camaro out for a drive by people with their jaws on the ground?...asking question after question? ....or, would you rather have another vette running around (not that it's bad...trust me). In all honesty, you won't be driving your vette balls to the wall every day. It's probably going to be a work commuter and errand runner for the most part, right? A Camaro will get on it just like the vette...yes, there's a difference, but not a major difference. If it's a couple grand, think about it. Vettes will always be around. Buying a Camaro is buying a peice of history. That's my take. I'd love a vette....but AM GOING TO LOVE MY 2SS/RS CGM!!! |

2008 Corvettes don't come with bluetooth, that option started with the 2009's. But defiantly the deals are out there, invoice prices or under on new ones. The best deals right now for used ones are on the z06's. I guess I took the opposite route, I bought an 08 corvette and i'm looking to buy the camaro a year down the road when they start to flood the road and I can pick up a lightly used and babied one for cheap(er).
