Are you talking about the proper way to wash it or a qay just to remove the salt but allow the car to remain dirty? There is only one way to properly wash a car and that's why I ask.

its my daily...i dont mind driving it dirty for a bit...just want to make sure when its warm enough to wash there has been no salt damage! Thanks for the help and responses. I think I am going to try and find one of those diy car washes since my hose is broken. Doesn't look like there are any in jersey though.

Two bucket method at your local quarter self wash bay.

Take one bucket with just water to rinse out your dirty mit. Then car wash soap and water in the other bucket. Hardware stores have buckets with lids and they can be put in the trunk in a milk crate to make sure they don't tip over.

Go when it's above 32F or it will be a freezing mess. Thick rubber dishwashing gloves will also keep your hands from freezing.

Where in NJ are you located? I know of one in Flemington NJ, and if you're willing to drive (under 1 hr.) I know of two in Pa.

Hopefully you've got a coat of wax/polish on your Camaro prior to this dilemma. Having at least one coat of wax/polish will be your major defense against salt.

At the very least, hose it down with clean water as this will remove at least a majority of the salt. And once the warmer weather returns, give your car a good detailing, and get numerous coats of wax/polish to give you peace of mind for next winter.

There's only one way to properly wash a car and that is the way I show it done in my videos. Anything else and I would just leave it alone. It's not like your cars are made of metal and are rusting away with the salt on them.

ZEP has great products but what is RTU-45 specific for?

I've never used them, but there is a car wash located just above the Flemington Circle across the street from where the old Flemington Speedway was located.

A friend of mine uses them and likes the results. I believe they also have the coin operated "do it yourself" bays.

That is Shammy Shine. I live in frenchtown so its close. However, I have used them before and I'm pretty sure its brushes etc and not a touchless wash. They do have the coin ones which I may use but I thought I'd see if there were any touchless ones around. Theres one in Jersey City but I dont want to drive 1.5 hrs just for a wash.

Ah, I didn't look closely enough to see their operation.

As I said previously, there are 2 here in Pa., and from Frenchtown, they're about a 45 min. drive. Both are located in the Langhorne area.
