Just dawned on me that we're talking CAD. That's like 12 cents off isn't it?

my criteria for choosing a dealership is this: price, service, selection and loyalty... in that order... the more a dealership satisfies at the top of the list, the more chance they have to keep my loyalty at the end of the list.
can't you take your car to any dealer for maintenance/repairs, regardless of where you bought it? for example, say you buy it in one state but then end up moving... obviously you would just take it in to your nearest dealer. am i correct?

I didn't realize this thread got some activity while I wasn't looking.

Thanks for the input all.

Yep - $0.22 off, but that's off a higher price to begin with, and no discount on the delivery charge which is more than taking the car to Texas, and there's probably a gas tax that covers twice the savings.

No "chances" really. The part of the story I didn't tell was that I've bought my last 3 vehicles at dealer #2. I've only been going to dealer #1 for service lately b/c they're closer (yes I agree you can go to any dealership) and their service rocks! Why I put my deposit in there before calling my usual guy (dealer 2)? I donno - weak moment I guess.

To Silver Turtle's point, I agree. But the service at both places is excellent and I don't have a "sales relationship" at dealer #1 yet. So no relationship to damage really.

So what's the end result? I placed my order at dealer #2 and for about 2 weeks I actually had 2 identical cars on order (that felt weird). I've since cancelled my order at dealer #1 to get my deposit back. And.... it seems like it was a good thing, b/c dealer #2 called today and said that on the first Canadian concensus to include the Camaro(came out today - so 1 week behind the US) they got 1 car for build in March. That means I'm next! He also added that the DSM was there today and commented that he would expect that mine will come through in the next concensus. We'll see....

What are the names of the 2 dealers? I like the license plate by the way.
