Thanks all for your input. Still not sure if I want to go subtle or extreme. Maybe I'll hang the 2 pics on the wall and throw a dart.

How high do you think the cowl is on the burgundy Camaro? 3 inches?

The cowl in the burgundy camaro is 3"

It is the Sunoco Cowl Hood and IMHO is the best looking hood for a 98-02 camaro

One more question. Pin on or bolt on? What's the difference?

you want bolt on

pin on is for race applications.

A bolt on hood utilizes your factory hood shocks. A pin on hood is secured several screws and hood pins. In order to lift the hood, you have to take the entire hood off of the car, and it is usually a two person job.

Thanks! I thought it was something like that. CA has crappy car shows so I've been out of the loop a bit since I moved here 20 years ago. I'm so happy for this site.

That is NICE! Puts an aggressive twist on the look without going overboard. I like it

I vote for the first one. Subtle is better, IMO, especially if the hood is the only mod you're doing to the body. If you're thinking about changing or adding other body mods, like a ground effects kit, then you might want to go bigger. I think cars with no other mods other than a huge hood scoop look silly.

This is what I would go with since you do not want an SS hood.

Found this page while I was looking for some ideas for my car. Maybe it will help you decide.

http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/appearance/

Click on "CAMARO" at the top of the page and then click on "HOODS" at the bottom of the page. This guy has collected a few dozen images of various aftermarket hoods in one place.

I'm going to put ground effects and 18" wheels on it, too.

Thanks Dukeboy for the site. Lots of pics.

Mindz - why are you red now?
