I watched the season premiere and by the third week started watching "Chase" on nbc.I rather watch the original Hawaii-Five-o with Jack Lord.

Let's see, abundant beautiful women... the fact that it's HAWAII!... cool military stuff (even if the last episode did call an amphibious assault ship the nuclear-powered USS Enterprise, like there's not a ton of stock footage of real aircraft carriers out there already)... airplanes... and of course a main character who drives a Camaro. What's not to like? When I want "cerebral" I'll go to the History Channel instead.

You're right about the original...the original is WAAAAY better. The new show is so bad I just couldn't watch it anymore. There's nothing familiar about it. It's awful. :(

I never knew the V6 sounded that way either. I am telling you, they make is sould like a V8, in my opinion.

In fairness to the show's producers it's unlikely that they really ever really intended for this to revamp the old series for a new generation of viewers anyway. The new generation very well may have found that stale (not that the current crop of cookie cutter police dramas aren't, but still...). It's kind of like the Camaro... or better yet maybe the Charger. It's really not what the old one was, but the new one draws a styling cue or two from the old then they slap an old name on it.

I agree with the CSI Miami comment - so may of these shows wrap-up a complicated case in one day when in reality it takes weeks/months of work.

We TiVo "Castle" and watch 5-0 live - the characters are likeable, even thought the plot lines are thin. Great to see the SIM Camaro RS - makes up for having to see the Challenger in NCIS LA and Chargers in NCIS.

I like the car, though I think an Ss lurks under the six cylinder livery. The show is ok by comparison to other current tv fare.

The original version (circa 1968) with Jack Lord was way better.

There's a lot of people in here bashing on the show. I'm kind of curious what current shows these people consider to be top quality.

I'd probably consider their idea of quality TV programming to be a bunch of trash not worthy of air time.

Moral of this story: If you don't have something nice or constructive to say, then say nothing at all.
