How did you accomplish this? I would like to do the same. Please post exact actions so others may try. Thanks.

I had to give it up to BERTHA, after-wards she hooked me up the rep.....

Serious though..... I called GM customer number to complain about a dealer.... Was assigned an OWNER AGENT who I called several times. Finally he called back and I continued to complain and advised him of my Lemon Law attorney's name and advice. He promptly escalated this to GM Field Supervisor for inspection. She did call me yesterday, but I was an idiot and ignored the 800 number, ooooops. So I left her a msg.... As soon as I get to see somebody I will post again with names and numbers~

Could have asked them during the Web Chat yesterday

Good luck, us old time members have been complaining about this for over 16 months and no response from GM and they do read this site daily.

Good to know its not just me that thinks this. I work with a certified paint inspector who loaned me his digital mill gauge (measures thickness of paint on metal surface). I checked every metal panel on my IOM 2SS/RS. The mills ranged from 6.1 to 8.8. Thought that this was a large range. I called the inspector I work with & he thought the same & informed me that usually car paint is between 4 & 5 mills with 5 being on the high side. He also said that the thicker the paint is the more easily it will chip from impact. With this information I checked the panels on my 2005 Ford Sportrac which I bought new & has never been repainted. The mills were consistent ranging 4 to 5 on the entire vehicle with the exception of the hood. The hood was consistent with 3 to 4 mills. Somehow this makes sense, the hood has lesser mills because if a thicker paint was applied it would chip easier. My truck is 6 years old with 125,000 miles & has less chips than my 9 month old camaro with only 8,500 miles. Apparently Ford got something right that Chevy couldn't.

Coop, I live in the Lawton/Ft. Sill area also. Yesterday I finally got my car washed after the snow storms we had. I couldn't believe the chips I found. They weren't there the last time I washed my car by hand. I figured it was probably the dirt and gravel they put on the roads, though I haven't driven a whole lot on it. Stayed home from work for 5 days. They're mostly in front of the rear wheels as yours are.

I don't think that the paint is the problem. The problem is that it is applied on soft plastic. It's the plastic under the paint is the problem. As for side gill I suggest Spalsh Guards, I have them on my car and I don't have any chips. As for the front end, it's the plastic taht bends and the paint is craking, If he bumbper woud be metal, I tink that it woul'nd chip at all. Paint thikness could be involved also.

Me too, chips on bumper, hood, gills, and pillars. 3900 miles, southwest TX, no gravel roads or tailgating. 3 months old.

I totally agree. The paint is flimsy to say the least and I swear the panels are made of tinfoil. Live in florida and never been on a dirt road. 6 weeks old and have already had 3 chips repaired and have 2 more that will be repaired next week along with a stone ding. More dings and chips that my cts had in 6 yrs. Also have a 10 traverse with 12k on it. Zero chips or dings driving on exact same roads daily. Camaro paint blows chunks.

Camaro paint is pretty shitty to be sure, but the design of the car also lends itself to chipping. Lots of flat vertical surfaces for rocks to hit.
