I met Virgil Coffman twice. Once in Clinton, IL and once at the track in Indy. Very nice guy and still quite sharp. Beautiful yellow camaro too. He got to ride around the track with a professional NASCAR driver in a camaro at speeds over 115 mph.

It began in September 2009, when Coffman walked into a Chevrolet dealership near his home in Decatur, Ill., and spotted a bright yellow, 426-horsepower, "Transformer" Camaro with black racing stripes. The special-edition model was featured as the character "Bumblebee" in the "Transformers" movie. Coffman hadn't seen the film, but he was impressed with the car. He set his mind on buying it.

"The salesperson was a little uneasy at first, but I convinced him I was serious," Coffman said—so serious that the retired auto worker paid cash for the $38,000 special-edition car. "I figured, who would sell a 101-year-old man a car on time?" Coffman joked.

Coffman, who turned 102 on January 16, 2010, has a good sense of humor, but his age is no joke. As soon as the ink was dry on the paperwork, he became the oldest known Camaro buyer on record.

By the time I'm his age... it will be the year 2086... we share almost the same birthday. I'm Jan 17.

And I'll still be driving the 2010 Camaro.... with a hover conversion of course with fuel cell power!

I'm definitely not the oldest 5th gen owner (28). But wish I could buy my dad a Synergy Green SS/RS. I'd have black stripes put on it for him, just like his '69.

Sorry pops...I didn't turn out to be a millionaire. The only way I'm ever going to have a million dollars attached to my name is like this:

-$1,000,000

This video shows someone who looks like me getting out of a Mustang. I plan to purchase a mobility scooter when my son lets me ride in his Gen5 SS.

Thanks considering the alternative.

70-feel 85, except when in my Camaro

Came down with a heart issue about two years ago and had to give up surfing. Needed a replacement adrenilan(sp?) rush and my 2011 SS/RS is it.
