Lol MT and c&d can't drive. They get crappy 60's so. low et's. That's why the mph is so high for a 13.3. Assuming they got a 2.2 60' is what they got. Then someone that can really drive the car gets 1.9 60' that's 4.5 tenths off the 13.3 so 12.85 at 109 mph. Every tenth off ur 60' is worth 1.5 tenths. I can see someone getting with dr's a 1.4 60' that would put u on the edge of an 11 second pass. Just think about it.

Fastest stock ls1 is 10.65?? Not understanding that one....
I guess I can see everyone's point on this. It does have a high trap speed, but I would be one not to catch that in reading because I havn't ever been to a dragstrip and raced myself. I do have a 99 Z28 that is basically stock A4 with 2.73's, and when I first bought it I was impressed, but now I'm getting used to it. I hope the 5th gen does do really good, I'd like to see it.

I think the car is just too heavy for it to get in the 11's stock .... (maybe Evan Smith can do it .. but not too many others .. lol)

It will be interesting to see what people can do with it though ..

at the time my friends 2001 trans am with 6 speed stock ran 12.4 at 110????
have you ever raced? i use to race for points at houston raceway park every sunday and i race jack pot almost every wednesday...i know maybe a little about racing....look at the mph...btw for those looking at the auto my wife's auto with full exhaust, kn filter and lid, and torque convertor was running 11.70's at 115...so the auto is not a bad choice....now i grant you most people will be running low 13's with 2.1-2.2 60's but people who know how to 60 in the 1.75-1.9 will run much better

I call bullshit. I had an 06 GTO that was more simular is wieght and engine. no way in hell it will be in the 11's. It will be high 12's. The trap speeds your quoting are not close to normal for stock cars. A 107/108 normally equals low 13's htere is no way that car ran a 110 stock.

Car And Driver also got 13.3 @ 109 mph from the GXP, so that matches Motor Trend's numbers.

So there is a ~ 100 lb weight difference, and possibly a gear ratio difference, so it is possible the SS could do the 1/4 mile in the high 12s.
G8 GXP with autos have 3.27:1 ratio, manuals have a 3.70:1 ratio...

Best regardSS,

Well i have lots of video's but they are are vhs and i dont know how to convert to something to post....anyways if i did you would just say its not stock...so anyways i am not a magazine reader i am a doer! The fact is just google for a mph/1/4 mile converter and put in the weight of the camaro and the 109.6mph that they got from a GXP and whallaa it comes to 12.3 at 109.6??? Sinse the gxp is rated a at few less horsepower and it weighs i think people say 100lbs more and also dont forget a manual will put at least 20 more hp to the dyno than an auto......whalla again 11.9 at 112? Granted the calculator is assuming you are getting a very good 60' which most people wont do....most people will either bog or spin and average 60's will be 2.1....your argument is flawed? they just tested a 2010 mustang that ran 13.4 at 104 do you really think the camaro is gonna run 13.4 at 108 obviously the mustang has a decent 60' and the camaro a poor one. when i first bought my 1993 gt in ran 14.4 at 96 after lots of practice, speed shifting, and rpm shift points i finally managed a 13.18 at 101.5mph with a 1.81 60' on the stock goodyears at the time....the only mod to the car was a 3.73 gear

Paul you have all the qualities of a bonafide bench racer. There's just no realistic thought process that justifies those numbers from these 3800+ lbs cars....stock. It's not physically possible.

hmm the one thing I will say in Pauls defense is the calculators that you find when you google tend to lean closer to what he's saying than what we are.

I believe Paul may consider any mods that aren't internal to the engine stock.

All I got to say is with a bad driver that's low 13's with a trap that high. With a good driver (good 60 ft) that's a high 12

We've heard so many insiders say that High 12 are possible. I wish they'd give one to the mags so we can get the speculation over with....

I'm confident the Camaro will see 12 sec 1/4 times stock.

I think high 12's are possible, but not 11's. I think the Camaro will be right on par with the GXP, but if the Camaro had that 3.70 gear it will beat the GXP by a bigger gap. But auto vs. auto Camaro should win with weight advantage, both have a 3.27.

Paul, did you do any significant weight reductions? I know with lots of practice and nailing the right 60' you can get better et's but idk about a whole second quicker.

I plan on going to the track at least once with no rear seats, no carpets, and no anything else easily removable. If I take off a few hundred pounds from the car, maybe 11's?
