Just think when was the last time you had a flat? and needed your spare tire
last year my dad, brother and i each got a flat on our motorcycles. mine was the worst as it happened while leaving indy on memorial day headed to chicago and very few places were open. My brother and dad also have gotten a flat on each of their cars in the past year. 2008 wasn't a good year to be a tire in our family.

So my 2LT, with the spare tire option, should have the spare in a well out of site with a jack then; if I understand correctly here.

Hopefully 1-800-CHEVUSA is not as slow as AAA.I waited on the side of the road for a hour, my dad 3 hours one time. Horrible service!!
Timely post. I got a flat on I-95 North bound at 5:00 AM today outside the Baltimore Md tunnel. AAA (which I only joined 2 weeks age) was there in less than 30 minutes. I couldn't ask for better sevice.

The battery is larger w/the V8 , so the the spare will not fit in the well.

Yes, The spare will be under the trunk carpeting. Underneath the spare will be the jack, lug wrench, and straps to keep the flat tire from sliding around in the trunk, and the battery.

While I can't comment on the size difference of the batteries in the V6 & V8 (I would assume they are the same dimensional size tho), that is not why a spare is not included with the SS. There is not enough room in the trunk to fit a spare wheel large enough to clear the Brembo brakes. The little donut spares are way too small for the big brakes on the SS.

It is really the Brembo calipers. The spare wheel will not clear the calipers...hence no spare available. 1-800-CHEV USA

In May of 2006 I was out at 4 inthe morning, and hit a curb and busted two tires on it, it would not have mattered having a spare or not in that situation, but since then I have not had a need for a spare or to use the sealant.

That's kinda normal for towing. It's not emergency services or a pizza.
