$738 per 6 months and an extra $50 if you get the maintenance insurance (drivetrain warranty w/ $250 deductible).

If you really are concerned about GM going under, the insurance is a decent deal. The lady said she has the insurance herself and they covered an oil pan leak which drained all her oil and seized her motor in a 5month old car!

I'm 1 more step closer to a new SS! Now i need to find a dealer that will do a GM supplier discount near me...

cheers!
I would go with safe state minimums, save $1000 in the bank on a CD and raise your comp and collision deducts to 1k. See what you will save. Probably $100-150 per 6 months.

As far as the drivetrain warranty. why? You have an existing NEW warranty for how many months and miles? When the mileage is up or the time expired, not a bad idea..not familiar with that waranty coverage though.

See my post here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12971

i did 100/300/300 with 1000 dollar deduct from geico and listed it as a pleasure driver along with state minimum insurance on an alero I currently have, which would be primary driver. Im 25 single male and my insurance through geico was 550 every 6 months, for both cars.

of course this was for a 30k 2LT camaro not an SS.

I called State Farm 2 days ago, because I wanted an estimate on my insurance rates and beieve it or not I was quoted $362 for 6 months. This is only about $30 more than my 2002 GMC Envoy. BTW, I am 39 years old and have not had any tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.

What trim package did they quote, the V6 or the V8?

I'm not a fan of Geico (having delt with them all the time when I worked at a bodyshop) however, these seem like pretty good deals.

It's nice to know there are options out there for us Thanks

I posted it in the other thread, but I was quoted by Geico for my beater (99 Buick) and the Camaro for less than $200. Only liability on the Buick and full coverage on the Camaro. The Camaro was based off of purchase price, so I'll expect it to go up a little once it's in the system.

Another thing we talked about was insurance during the winter. Since I dont plan on driving the Camaro from Nov through Feb, I can turn the Camaro over to storage insurance for a couple bucks a month. Look into it if you're storing it for the winter.

I had Nationwide from when I was 16 years old on a 94 camaro z28 and a 94 3000gt VR4 (10 years total). They were the only company that would insure me on my parents policy. I was paying $110/month for my '02 subaru WRX and moved to Miami beach and my premium increased to $250/month for the same coverage. I'm not sure why they aren't even CLOSE to being competitive in my area.

I was checking quotes for an '06 Yamaha R1 and it was $4800 a year with 10k/20k/50k 500 $500 deduct!! I could drive the bike into the ocean once a year for that price and just pick up another lol.
