Seen this before when the primer base has not cured right and the top coat was applied over the primer and as it cures, it shrinks and causes this blimish. The Sailors make the same mistake on aircraft parts by being in a hurry...needs stripped and reshoot the primer, topcoat and clear. A good dealer CAN fix this. I've seen whole Aircraft wings do this when humidity is up and there FORCED to use water base paints...preperation,preperation and more preperation is the key to a good paint job

It looks like you pointed the heat gun at the paint when you were distracted, installing the bowtie cover.

I'd remove the vinyl decal from your bowtie too. No sense in drawing attention to it.

Are you sure you want your ex to work on your car that [ he] paid 4 ?

to me it sounds like you hit it with the heat gun and are trying to find ways to explain it if dealer ask. Good luck

It wasn't me doing anything to it. This is a new spot and the decals have been on there for a few weeks now. This has happened since Monday. If I was at fault I would admit it. I'm not that careless around my new car with something such as the heat gun.

It looks like something from underneath just because there were no marks around it and the paint isn't distorted suggesting something may have hit it. I'll just post on Monday or Tuesday when I get to stop by the dealership.

Thats called orange peel. Usually happens to do to a badly prepared surface but also shows up right after the paint is on. Sounds like yours happened later so not sure what cause it.

Well at least there are some possible explanations for it other than blaming me lol. Hopefully something can be done.
