Definitely looks cheap when opened. I would prefer it come all the way off like a t-top instead of what I see here. Looks great when closed though...So I guess they got it half right

I had a G6 with that sunroof and it was great, but they quickly stopped making it because it was an expensive option and no one wanted to pay for it. It was available on the Aura too. If I remember correctly they got complaints about wind noise too-although it never bothered me.

I'm ordering my SS with the sunroof- Even closed it has the advantage of letting the daylight in. Brightens up the whole interior.

Yep, both look terrible. They may have had to do it this way but it still looks bad. Hidden would look alot better.

Frankly, I'm just glad they put one in at all! I can't buy another car without one anymore. Once you have the ability to lighten up the interior, as myold88 said, it completely changes how the interior feels...it's somewhat less claustrophobic, and the ability to pop the roof open allows ventilation without all the wind noise at your ear from the window.

Kudos to GM on the decision. A little off topic, but T-tops, IMO, are outdated. Yeah, they were kinda cool when they first came out, but there are numerous hassles associated with them. The shades are velcro'd on, you can't just "open" the shade while driving, and you can't open or close the top while driving either. You physically have to stop the car, get out, carefully remove them, make sure you don't drop them, and stow them in the trunk, taking up space. Not to mention that they were notorious for having leak issues.

The sunroof was a better choice, regardless of configuration. It would be interesting to see a poll on the number of buyers that are choosing this option.

Sorry. There aren't any "good" pics of the sunroof for the Camaro, because it just doesn't look good.

Sorry, I have to agree with Dragoneye. Wait that didn't sound right. I'm not sorry.

Start again.......I agree with Dragoneye. You guys just must

a) hate all sunroofs

b) love the reverse mohawk soooooo much

c) be pining for T-tops so bad you can't accept any alternative.

The open over the roof type is very common on coupes. There just isn't room to get the mechanism and glass panel to fit unless you make the opening so small that it's a mail slot. Plus you reduce rear seat head room in the coupe where headroom is already at a premium due to the sloping roof line.

It works, it looks reasonable if you accept the fact that this is how it has to be and get the styling that makes this a Camaro, you'll warm up to it.

Interior headroom would have suffered look at that roofline. I could care less about a sunroof but it seems like something maybe to appease the T-top crowd.

I for one am glad that they gave us the option to include a sunroof. For those of you who don't like it, don't order it. I loved my T-tops(yes maybe I am stuck in the 80's) and haven't owned a car without some sort of open roof since then. Life's all about choices. I chose a sunroof.
