I would be careful and take a diffrent way home from work just in case he tries to follow you that way yhou can keep a lookout to see if he follows you cause you know the cops will not be there at all times just be careful and get some servailence on your baby stat

If you had to fire him for lack of quality, he would probably fail at vandalism, too. But just to be safe, look up his address and strike first, Dexter style!

Well, it wasn't just nice. It's a REQUIREMENT that they provide a safe working environment for all employees and the business property like parking lots, break areas and such. It's actually a law and they must cover their butts. I'm going to guess they did that in a manner of niceness, but it really is a matter of law that they have to do this, otherwise it can be a huge liability risk.

Workplace violence is common. Mess with a paycheck and folks get violent. Glad he only threatened to bust up your car instead of blasting you away with a firearm.

Now you should not have fired the guy. He didn't get that pony on his 5th birthday so that made him the way he is now.

It sounded like he just needed a hug.

Why do they always have to pick on your ride. The damn car didn't do anything to anyone. I know that the guy shouldn't do anything towards you anyway, but they go after something that can't protect itself.. I like the trunk monkey idea though.

I might go out and find a nice, rusty, beat up '86 Civic 4 speed for $200 and drive that to work for a while. Leave the Camaro at home until things cool off with the person you fired.

I was laid off 2 1/2 years ago (thankfully found a new job immediately for about the same salary). That company gave us 4 months notice, so we could look for a new job while we were still working, and also to be eligible for severance you were required to work the entire 4 months. Well, one of the older fellas who had been with the company for well over 10 years, was overheard by a manager threatening to bring a gun in and shoot every one.

Before he could return to his desk the police were there. Our director was escorting him out with the police. We had an officer guarding our main entrance for the next week for the full 8 hour day. Then they installed a security coded entry and reinforced door frame to the main entrance...... all for the last 2 months of our employment there.

In the end the guy who said this was known to be all talk and no bite, for as long as I'd known him (there's no doubt he had a glitchy circuit in the brain from his time in Vietnam). I'm pretty positive he would have never done it. But management's responsibility is to protect their employees. And this was a threat that our director took seriously.

At least the police know about the threat in case anything does happen. Hopefully not but should make it easier if it does.

I work in Loss Prevention and I've had to terminate a lot of people over the years. One I caught stealing money out of a register actually sent two of his friends after me. Turns out they were a couple of tools, but have to always watch your back people can go nuts on you when least expected.
