Me I might ask what he or she is driving and tell them to take a look at a list of vehicles that are slower than mine in the 1/4. Far more that are slower than faster.

I don't have to defend my Camaro, I just tell them I have about 320 HP and get somewhere around 30 MPG on the HWY. If I have to add anything else I just tell them I've had it up to 126 MPH, and that the cut off is 156 MPH. Anyway really who needs to go that fast on city streets?

Honestly, it isn't worth the time.

But really, todays V6 is as fast as yesterdays V8s....they are quick cars...just not quick like a modern V8. The exhausts on those older cars were aggressive... So what is wrong with adding an aggresive exhaust that when done right can actually sound really good???

Nothing.

Again...why am i even responding to this?

I just normally say Yeah its really slow, wanna race?
But seriously, if you come to think of it, even the SS isnt fast stock anymore. Plenty of cars are coming out with right around the same performance.
The v6 is no beast, but it sure is no slouch either.

I truly dont know what I wouldve said in that situation, I wouldve made him feel like a dumbass one way or another. I can build anything to be fast. A stock v6 with exhaust can definitly handle alot of cars on the road, but it wont be a rocket

Many good responses already.

I've heard the comments at work about how I should've gotten a V8 among other things, but my response is always the same:

I don't need a V8 DD
I love getting 32+ mpg on my interstate trip to work
My V6 turns heads just as well as the V8
I can afford to make three payments a month

With that being said, "Would I like to trade my V6 for an 8?"
Hell yes.
Does it make sense for me?
Not even hardly.

I think aggresive sound = always better...unless it has 4 cylinders and a tin can.

Yep to above.

1. What do you drive?

2. Want to race it at the strip?

3. Want to race it on a road course?

4. What else have you learned from You Tube in your extensive studies from Mom's basement? (Maybe that's too far...)

i like to think mine sounds aggressive. aggressive for a V6. if somebody is REALLY that into it, they would know the difference between a V6 and V8 and know what to expect from either platform. as for me, my aggressive sounding V6 can back it up...so yeah, whatever and to each their own. not to mention, a gorgeous car shouldn't sound like a purring ***** cat...it SHOULD roar. it was meant to be seen AND heard...just my .02

Anyone who makes fun of six cylinder vehicles needs to meet a GTR or GT3.

I think it really boils down to some ppl struggling with the fact that there are V6's with better mods than their V8 cars have. They always seem to be the first to pull out the Rice card.

I do get a kick out of watching the disappointment when they ask if it's V8 "Nope. V6". From there it generally goes down hill. I do not care what some meathead that only speaks V8 thinks or has to say. A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.
