Okay.
I think you are blowing it way out of proportion in order to deter people from doing it.Its not that hard to build a box,and working with fiberglass is VERY forgiving. If it doesnt look exactly like you wanted it,guess what, they make sandpaper to fix it. A middle school shop student could do this stuff easily.

You didn't ask for it, but I'll give you my advice anyway.

I used to have 2 12-inch subs in the trunk of my Cobalt. I bought a box for $80 and enjoyed the Alpine Type Es that were powered by a 600W Kenwood amplifier. My roommate had only one Alpine Type E powered by a superior JL amplifier and a ported box. They both sounded great, but his setup was cheaper, took up less space, and weighed less. If you've gone through all this effort to reduce the weight of your car only to splurge on a very involved sound system, then you may want to set some limits or priorities in order to make sure that you get what you want. So much of a subwoofer's sound is dependent on the box. Having more subs won't make your car's sound system better. It's all bass, so I recommend focussing on quality. If you're going to build the ultimate subwoofer setup, do it with one sub because you'll be able to spend more on making that one sub perfect than spending double on amps, wiring, and materials for a custom box. Trust me. You'll appreciate a higher-quality subwoofer sound than a whole lot of mediocre ones.

I have a box guy and I would bet everything on his skills..this guy loves installing and building. Has 2 shops one in NY and the other in FL. I know im a newb on this forum but trust me on this. Tell him what you want and he will design it and send you the specs for free. Thats right I said free. He just loves audio that much. If you are interested shoot me a PM and I will send you his information. Can't go on about his work enough..from a simple box to whatever you can imagine.

I've seen a lot of really crappy looking home-made fiberglass boxes, but I guess you're right, it's so easy a caveman can do it.

I'm kind of curious to see what a middle school shop student's fiberglass work would look like.

a full fiberglass box is gonna be a PITA. I've worked with fiberglass and it sucks. Between the mess, the time, and the smell, I'd rather build with wood. And, I'm gonna have to disagree. Fiberglass is not easy by any means. It's a skill just like building a wooden box. To build anything worth a crap takes tools, skill, and patience. Just my 2 cents.

I did something similar in a 3000GT I used to own. I was younger back then, and the stereo was high on the priority list. Replaced the back seat lowers with a shelf I made myself out of plywood and dropped 2 12" subs back there. The whole thing was covered in faux leather, black with a strip of red leather for accent. Do you really "need" the 3 10"ers? I kept the rear folding seat backs stock so I could still fold them down. I mounted the amp to the back of the LH rear seat. That way, you could still could get long cargo into the car. As you might imagine, having 12" subs a foot from your head will give you plenty of sound. The best part was that I could pull the whole system out and cap the wires in about 20 min.

So could the burglars. Just be aware of that. If it's simple for you to remove, I can guarantee the thieves can do it faster.

I have the luxury of having an SUV that had tie-down anchors in the cargo area. I removed those metal triangles and found some grade-8 hardware with the same threading and bolted my sub box down with those existing mounting points.

But even I know, that if a thief wants what's in my car, I don't doubt that they could find a way to remove it all in under 5 minutes...
