I feel for you BIG guys but Chevy has other models for family. I think this is the perfect size for me and my wife. I don't see us taking a long trip with a couple in the back though. I think Chevy got this about as right as they possibly could. It isn't for everyone but it is a Sports car and usually you don't pack the entire family in one of those. I think it has a nice sporty look and I owned a couple of 69's and never really had too many people that rode around with me. For a family car I would probably pick a 4 door Buick Regal (two kids, each can sit by a door) which I have one of those and love it, I also have a Monte Carlo which is nice also but a little harder to put older people in and out of the back seat. The Malibu would be another chose you family guys can use. It's nice and roomy. As far as the Camaro I HOPE they never put four doors on it like Dodge did the Charger.

I personally don't want to see a 4 door Camaro myself. Just my $0.02

Thanks for the pictures LSUDUKE. I live just down the road from Rochester and will be going to the show Sunday afternoon. I attended the Syracuse show about three weeks ago, seeing the car for the first time, but was unable to sit in it. I am 5'7" and at 300 pounds, and have a concern about fitting in the car. However, at the Syracuse show it looked feasible. I don't plan on putting over 3000 miles a year on the car so long trips won't be an issue.

My view is that the Camaro is intended to be a sports car more than being a family car. I sympathize with you with your concerns of fitting the family in this car, and understand that it may not be the right time in your life to justify this car. However, I am 53 years old and can't justify it either, but - I want it and have bought it.

Long Live Camaro!

Im getting one with 3 kids. My wife will be in the trunk if thats what it takes To the op take a look at the challenger if u want more room in the back. Between the camaro, stang and challenger it seemed the best for back seat space imo. Thanks for the pics btw

Anyone that expects to put adults in the back seat of a Camaro,
1. Has never owned a Camaro...
2. Needs to buy a CTS....

Yeah it sucks being tall. At 6'3" I dont fit in any cars I would lovee to drive.(Solstice, S2000, 370Z, Sky) It really pisses me of they cant make sport cars a bit bigger for tall people. The Camaro seems alright though. No one would be able to sit behind me though. For anyone taller, good luck. Especially with the sunroof. I really loved the solstice and would love the coupe, but my head sticks up over the roof like 3 inches.

I am also 6'3" (at 180lbs), and sat in the Solstice. I fit in it alright, with the seat all the way back. With the top up i had to fold just about in half to get in though. But once i was in, i was good and comfy! The windshield was a little on the low side for my field of vision, but nothing i couldn't handle. I had more of a problem trying to look around/past the rear-view mirror then with the window so low.

I have a sunroof in my Cobalt, sit considerably straight up, and don't even have the seat all the way back! (though it's only one notch from all the way back)

Is it me, or do the wheels not look like they belong on the car?

It's just you. But then you probably don't like the heritage rally wheels either eh?

More or less ...

Those wheels reminds me of the ones on the V6 Charger

I don't have any pups running around so I don't have to be too concerned with the back seat. It'll just be me and my girl. Nice pics btw. IBM FTW!!

I would expect anybody buying a Camaro is keeping their family sedan, has ONLY 1-2 small children & not a tall person, or has no children, or a young person. This car wasn't made for a family which is why we're keeping our SUV's and adding this to the lineup. I'm sick of driving and i need something that brings that passion back when I'm on the way home or to work. I'm tired o the same ol same ol.
The overall length it's not far off from the G8(a few inches). Problem is the interior is made as a sporty car so a longer hood and the seats sit lower so your legs stretch out further as opposed to how your legs sit on a full size sedan or truck. I wouldn't think Chevy would have you sitting up 'high' in a Cam because then it wouldn't feel like the traditional sports/muscle car. Fortunate it's only 3 of us, & my son is only 2 years old legs barely hang off the back seat from the car seat and my wife doesnt mind adjusting her seating & sitting close to the dash, so i'm good! As far as friends, we can ride in your car and use YOUR gas. lmao

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for ya big guy

cars are like women, some are old, some are new, some get turned on easily some need a lot more help, some you just wanna drive into the river, some you can't wait to get inside of, some are expensive to maintain, some are low maintenance, however if you treat them right, you'll have her for the rest of your life.....

Camaro as a family car, hmmm! Sorry your dream is gone, but this is a coupe, coupes really aren't the family kinda of car IMO. GL to ya and hope you find what you are looking for!
