If it were just a matter of producing a better car, I could probably name you a dozen vehicles in the history of the automobile that should have sold like hotcakes but, for whatever reason, never caught on with the buying public and were doomed to the dust bin of automotive history as an also-ran. |

You're right not with there being better cars out there that didn't sell well though. I just think Ford's done it the best with Mustang, as far as striking the best balance of value/performance/quality/etc. I hope GM can change things with Camaro though ![]() ![]()

My last 4 cars have been Mustangs. The 4.6 3-valve 300 HP motor is very good for everyday street use. For 2010 the GT motor is 315 HP - big deal. My 2002 Z06 and my last 2 Mustangs have shown me that there is a BIG difference between 300 HP and 400 HP on the street. Somewhere around 400 HP traction becomes the biggest issue. And, drag radials are not practical for everyday use. For "Fun-To-Drive", I want 400 HP not 300 HP. That means, for me, a Mustang GT needs a supercharger to be competitive. I'm going Camaro for 2010.

Well I was on ebay looking at them today and I don't think I could do a stock 4.6, but I do like the Saleen and the Cobra. As long as they have 400hp or better I could be swayed with the right price. It seems the Camaro is going to provide the best value at this point though.

Meh. 2010's alright. I say it's a step back in styling. Of course, with the rumored 302 making a comeback I may be able to overlook it...

The mustang will outsell the Camaro the first year simply because it has a tried and true following and is more affordable than the Camaro. Another big reason is that for the first 6 months to a year, the GM dealers will be marking up the price in the $5,000 over MSRP range and in Miami in the $10,000 over MSRP range until things die down.. The Mustang got a facelift that makes it more aggressive looking in 2010 so it looks more like the GT500's front fascia. This was a great move by Ford since now the car looks more like KITT on their new infomercial show... I would be happy with a 2010 Mustang as it is a very nice looking car interior and exterior..
