I know where you're coming from. My biggest problem is a deep hate for washing cars. If I drive it in the rain it will get dirty and I'll have to wash it again. Seriously, I don't drive it to work because there is construction going on here and with dumpsters and storage units all over the lot it makes parking difficult. Park near the grass and the landscape people will put a rock through it. Also, this is farm country and the sodbusters are out in full force running from their muddy fields onto the highways in their equipment and $hitwagons. It usually calms down here in our six weeks of summer.

You should keep it covered up in your garage for 20 years and never drive or even start it. Then give it to one of your kids they will probably drive the crap out of it or sell it to get enough money for the latest x-box. You can then wounder why you ever bought the thing. LOL I suggest you drive it just park it on the far end of a parking lot to keep the door dings down. nice car!

Just drive. Its a car. Its cool to be proud of your car, but being afraid to drive? Thats a phobia.

When I first saw the title of the thread, I though it was modded with so much power you were afraid to drive it... ooops, sorry...
I drive mine all the time, I am just very selective about where take it... I do not go on rat killing trips with it... It doesn't go to Wal mart or the grocery store... and only select resturants where I have scoped out the best parking spots at... The latter is subject to change if I can find a curb to park on and my wife parks her SUV on the other side of me to block door dings... I understand the fear, but... don't let other peoples actions control your reaction and have the end result be that you can't enjoy the amazing car you bought and modded... Just consider, when and where and for what when taking it out... I had people stop and look at it when I drove out to a small country store one time... I stopped and parked it under a big oak tree and sat and had a coke while reading a book... Had six or eight people come over and look at it, question me about it etc... I get fewer questions at car shows as there isn't really anything to see under the hood, unless you know what you're looking for. If there is a car with a polished maggie on one side of me and a whipple on the other, hardly anyone will give my car a second glance... "polished magg..... Headers... Cool..." "Whipple.... heard they put out lots of boost... wow... cool..." "hmmm, funny looking CAI, no exhaust, stock... nothing to see, move on..."

Cars are meant to be driven. I would love to have a show worthy, classic Camaro or some other classic car but the problem is that I could never just garage it. I want to drive the cars I own.
Get out there and drive it! I drive mine every day and love it.

Just enjoy it. Whether that means driving it to shows, driving it everyday or parking it in the garage. Whatever the reason is that you bought it and modded it in the first place is a good start. Don't ever be "afraid" to drive it. Yes it IS a Camaro, but seat time is usually = fun time.
It's not what you can do for your car, it is what your car can do for you ! BTW - Nice mods... |

Yup, better get that beast out on the road today cuz tomorrow the ground is going to open up and swallow it. Then you'll really be pissed you didn't drive it more. Seriously though, do what makes you happy. If your happy with it sitting in the garage leave it there. If you want to drive it to do errands now and than do it. If you want to enter into a demolition derby do it just make sure you take video and tons of pictures. |
