So here is the update:
399 for a genuine GM windshield and the warranty work can move forward. That's about the price of a plinkton piece. Guess it works out even for all parties. I do like the idea of having a replaced windshield... Just feel a bit sore that something broke under warranty that triggered an expense on my part.

Wait theyre making you pay?!? They had to replace the windshield on my dads and didn't charge him a dime. It's warranty. I call shinanigans on that.

Yep - as it stands I gotta pay to get the warranty work done. It did have a crack in it before I took it in. The crack has been repaired for many months. But yes, if I don't pay for a new windshield GM will not perform the warranty work.

wtf thats bullshit. Call GM themselves and make a file on it. I would and WILL not pay for something that should be covered under warranty. Why does the windshield have to be replaced?
