Our '07 Malibu has the same type of door locks...

The slider locks are just annoying. The ones in my Envoy don't feel very secure when you push to lock.

i highly doubt you're gonna use a clothes hanger to pull up a small, smooth cylinder. i had larger ones on my explorer & still had to use the hanger to press the unlock button

unlocking w/ a hangar - your not trying to lift the locking stub

your 'hooking' the locking mechanism INSIDE the door panel, slide the hangar down the side of the glass into the door frame

(i had to do this on my old car when i got locked out...don't judge lol)

And being that the unlock button is all the way on the radio... don't think you're going to be doing that with the camaro.

Chevy has been going back to them lately. My 2007 Cobalt has them, but my 2001 Blazer does not.

At least the cop can use a slim jim on them when you lock yourself out instead of tearing apart your window frame if you have a slider lock. I've seen it, and it's not pretty

I wouldn't call it retro all the aussie cars have pop up locks.

Ehh I dont mind it but as long as you cant stick a hangar into the door to pop it up.

My cav has a small "flipper" kind of thing and its right next to the handle so when I get out of the car I open it and lock it in one motin as I push the door open. I don't have keyless entry:( let alone electric windows.

My 05 Grand Prix has plastic popups which I swapped out for brushed aluminum ones.

If you would like a pr. of these e-mail me for contact info.

The manual mechanism for these is better than the slide lock type, less bends and parts to have bushings rot out or break.

actually guys, no hanger, no slim jim...it's called OnStar...

Just give them a call and give them your pin and they can unlock your doors for you.

Onstar works better than a slim jim. No cop, no damage.

You can get chrome knobs at any parts store for a buck or two. They are threaded usually therefore replaceable.
