First, Everyone in this thread, you are being WAY TOO NICE TO YOUR DEALER. This is BS!!

First, SilverIce: I feel your pain. My order is also a Silver Ice, and I have been getting nothing but a run-around as to where my car is from GM and the dealer. I wonder if there is some kind of restraint on this color.... ?

Anyway, GM holding back orders to smaller dealers just so they can fill the orders of larger dealers is evil. How are smaller dealers ever going to be able to grow if they take longer to fullfill orders?

Anyway its no secret that the thrill is gone for me now and I'm "this close" to canceling my order. I hope that you Silverice (and everyone else) get their cars before going nanners like I am.

If you want to cancel then do it, but since production is ramping up it wouldnt be a smart move. I understand you are upset, I would be too. But it's simple business that if a dealer makes a company more money, of course they will be filled first. I ordered at a dealer around Washington DC.........just the number of people there ensure all the cars will be sold. A small town dealer with only 2 allocations has no chance of being filled until probably last unfortunately. I was in the same boat but instead of waiting I went and ordered in a bigger market and now my car seems to be sprinting through the line. I suggest everyone try to find a dealer in a huge market that might still have allocation and reorder. You wont regret it. I re-ordered May 8th and am at 3000 with a TPW of June 29th after only 3 weeks.

I bumped into this:

GM 10/08: The all-new 2010 Chevy Coupe delivers outstanding power, performance, efficiency, sporting sleek styling and a unique array of features. Bookings are open. So be the first to take the wheel of the new Camaro. Place your order today!
They could have made it a little clearer that you wouldn't be the first to physically take the wheel.

We should have known it was going to be like this. No small town anything ever gets something first. This is why I didn't order in October. Even by placing the order in October people will still get their car at least by September. Too many people took this as if I order now I will be the first one in my town to have it. It means you will be in the first wave of customers to own it, which is true. This first wave of owners this speaks about is the first wave of allocations. I have been around the car business for a long time and took this as what it was. Marketing tactics rarely ever speak the truth. What this all boils down to is that customer A wanted to be the very first one to own a Camaro so he went down to the dealership in October and didnt know about allocations yet because it was so early and neither did the dealer. Then finds out that they will only get 2 or 3 because it is a small market. Now the customer is upset, but it's not really about the process, it's because he wanted to be first to get one and show it off and all that stuff. I ordered mine, dont care when it gets here as long as it does, dont care about what others think of it, and just want to have fun in it. Most people are upset because they cant wait 3 more months because now other people got them first and spoiled their I want to be first party. Really.......who gives a s**t who gets the car first as long as we help save this company and all get something fun to drive in the near future. These cars will be everywhere anyway.
