I've had the trunk actually open on me all on its own. It's rare but annoying. and the service dept. had no idea why it happened. Oh well...

I hope the new sensor resolves this for you Larry. If anyone else continues to have this issue let me know and I'll do what I can to assist you.

I had a trunk open alert myself, but it's because I hit the button on the fob accidentally...

UPDATE:
The dealer replaced the Trunk sensor today, but ... within an hour I got the false Trunk open alarm again. Called and setup another appointment.

UPDATE:
The dealer ordered a new BCM and I setup an appointment to have it replaced. While the technician was replacing the Module he found a non factory anit theft device that the dealership where they made a swap with to get my car had forgotten to remove. They remove it and so far no more false trunk open alarms.

OP...................Yes, strangely enough he looks exactly like the guy looking back at me in the rear view mirror..............lmao

I believe that the dealership placed it in the camaro in case it got stolen from the lot. You would think that they could go through On Star.

hey @LarryCook do you remember how much you had to pay for the trunk sensor(s) and if that was actually the problem?

Mine aren't false alarms - seems I hit the trunk button on my remote when it's in my pocket pretty often.

dammit
