Update:

So the 3M brushed stuff handles the engine heat just fine. The stuff I used for the black strips on top however seemed to shrink and pull away and the chrome vinyl I used for the accents seemed to almost "fuse" to the plastic which would have been fine except the covers texture began to show through which gave it an orange peel effect.

Sooo..... yeah I had to make a few changes and now its all done in the 3M vinyl. Actually I think this looks better as the whole cover looks like brushed metal.

2 sheets 12x60 one brushed aluminum and one brushed steel. Thats the smallest they come and its enough to do 2 covers and then some.
