Quick question to the experts - Will the 1LT with the optional 19" wheels (that come with Z rated Pirelli tires) but NOT the RS package, have the 118 mph limiter? Anyone have a definitive answer?

Got my answer on the new website. 19" - 21" tires limit is 155 mph !

Acording to the configurator it looks like the 118 is set for the 18" rims.
can always tack on $4600 and get the 21s
At that point a 1LT with 19s is cheaper and should be set to 155.

Haha, my parents Saturn Vue V6 goes faster than that.

It has nothing to do with the drivetrain. The same mechanical bits are found in the LT's, the limiter is electronic and is there because of the tires. And the Vue should be able go faster than 118 but again, I doubt the tires are designed for that.

I routinely go more than 118 at our track- it's got curves an a straightaway.
Your taking the car to the track and you are worried about speed limiter, and your going to run with stock street tires. Hmmm, that would be interesting. Change the tires and tune your limiter out. Someone going to be running this at the track as you state you are, these things should be pretty obvious!

if only the LS had thet problem!

I was serious about the extended periods of time comment. sure, any tire can go faster than its speed rating, just dont hold it there for very long. im sure if you fiddled with the electronic limiter, the stock tires will still carry you past 118. for how long, i dont know however. guess theres only one way to find out.... someone let me borrow your LS
