I've upped the boost on my Saleen, my Lightning and my 03 Cobra. It's easy to get another safe 75-100Hp with just a pulley, tune, cai and catback. Thats also my plan for my future ZL1.

I've seen a couple of these questions posted, and my answer to this question is.........There isn't a lot out there (feasibly) that would make me miss getting a zl1.

The corvettes are amazing performance machines, but this zl1 will be special. If everything that's mentioned about the zl1 comes to play, it should be able to exceed the acceleration numbers of not only the gt500 but also the current base vette and the grand sport. My lingering concern with the zl1 is its potential weight. I feel that if the weight were considerably less than 4,000 lbs then the zl1 would be almost invincible.

Aside from the performance, the key to the zl1 is its connection to the vintage zl1s of 1969. That aspect alone is what distinguishes the zl1 from its competitors, inside the brand name and out.

Doesn't it really boil down to which one appeals to you more, which gets your juices flowing? For me, that's a ZL1 Convertible with an automatic transmission--even though the Corvette would likely generate better numbers in most categories.

My point, however, is that these are inherently personal and subjective decisions. No one else can answer the question for you except you. And someone else's right answer may not be your right answer.

I's say the Corvette, but if I were going to get one I'd like the ZR1, but I don't have $125,000 just layin around to get it.

I'm pretty sure that the ZL1 will outperform the GS in terms of all out power, but I don't know about the cornering and agility of the Camaro. The ZL1 may have more HP, but the GS is lighter.

The ZL1 would probably be better in this condition because it's more cost effective.

However the ZL1 vs the ZR1 and ZR1 Z3R is a whole 'nother story.

He told me that was the best damn answer he ever heard.

No contest. Although I've loved the look of GS since I've seen it. I still can't have another car until I have ZL1.

^This^

Remeber the ZL1 "will be the highest performance Camaro ever produced" by GM. How can you NOT get it over the GS? The chiseled Camaro lines are just too good. I bet you the GS won't turn heads like the ZL1 will. My .02

Everyone is going to have thier own opinions about this, so here's mine.

I would go for and will be buying the ZL1. I love the looks of the camaro alot
more, and if and when I have grand kids the extra back seats will come in handy. This car just reminds me of the days of the GTO's, Chevell's, Gen 1 camaro's, Trans Am's, from the 70's. Some of which I drove or my friends drove back in high school and college. Those were great times, and this car will help bring back that experiance again for my wife and me. Can't wait till I pick it up hopefully early next year.

With the actual selling prices probably nearly equal, Corvette without question. The GS is an amazing car. Not that the ZL-1 won't be, but it's no Vette. Or just wait another year or two for a C7 Vette

I think it would be pretty foolish to buy a new Corvette right now with the C7 coming. I love Corvettes and always have but I think i'd be ready to kill myself if I had one as my only car. They are miserably uncomfortable as a daily driver.
