![]() This post goes against me in so many ways. First of all what gives you the right to tell someone they can't do something? Please explain this. And making fun of someone who wants to restore a mustang? My gosh, forgive him for not having the same taste as you. I'm not a mustang person by any means, but I can respect what people like and what their interests are. /rant |

is that people (Younger kids really) seem to think the MUSTANG IS THE BEGINS ALL AND ENDS ALL OF THE AUTO WORLD ! Everytime i would bring up The Camaro they would be like..... huh?....."oh the mustang'll blow it off the road!" ![]() THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR OUR CARS so i don't feel bad about criticizing a kid restoring a car with no knowledge or respect for other cars, and probably no knowledge or respect for the history of THAT car. I agree however that you should respect others cars just for the fact if you are a car guy you appreciate cars in general, i love MUSCLE CARS in General that's why even though i can't stand the old roadrunners with the pointed noise and 6ft spoiler i still smile and ask "Whats under the hood?" I DRIVE A MUSTANG, I LIKE MUSTANGS, OLD & NEW, ( I ALWAYS LIKED THE CAMARO BETTER BTW LOL) but these kids just know the name AND THAT'S IT. I brought up that my dad's friend was restoring a 442 and they asked "why doesn't he just bring it to BMW in Westchester is it under warranty?" ( FACEPALM)

lol yea. I love 442's. Sweet cars! The OP just comes off as really arrogant. Saying he knows he's the most intelligent person there is at his school when it comes to cars. That's a pretty bold statement, although I don't know how many people attend his school.

![]() lol well that's my point, to be honest i went to highschool with about 200 kids in my graduating class and i KNEW then and i KNOW now i was the most knowledgeable about cars bcuz ......they told me! lol bcuz they were just into cars for the looks, they didn't really know anything about the cars themselves (which i think is the point the OP was making) I remember one kid told me if he bought the (new at the time) M3 he would drop it four inches and put a body kit on it. i told him "thats so low forgwt the muffler, you'll be scraping your drive shaft!" (i was the only one laughing) i proceeded to explain what a drive shaft was and how it makes his BMW move lol

No offense to the thread starter, but why would you crush your friend's dream of getting a Camaro? You don't seem like a very good friend lol.

Sorry, but the person starting this thread - I'd take your friend's side any day. Although I think mustang fans are way too arrogant about their cars, so is everybody that has their favorite brand/model; whether its camaro, mustang, challenger, or chevorlet, or just GM in general. Anyone you speak to is biased.
Your friend wants to help his dad rebuild a mustang? I think that's awesome! I wish my dad knew how to rebuild a car, or was at least interested in cars. I would rebuild anything, mustang, camaro, heck I'd rebuild a honda. Just to get my hands dirty and learn a few things. Also - making $20K impossible! Nothing's impossible. I worked 40 hours a week while in High School and 80 hours a week during the summer; I saved close to $40,000 all of which is going towards my 2010 Camaro SS. Instead of putting your friend down you should try to encourage him, especially since he's trying to get a camaro! Besides, every Camaro order just helps GM that much more!

maybe not crushing the dream, but putting more reality in his face. (dont know the friends job situation, but it might not be great) and instead of saying, yeah, dude, you can do it. giving some cold facts about pricing and payments might just be what the friend needs to see to make a good decision. not saying he shouldnt get a camaro, just saying that he doesnt need to try and run himself into the ground to afford one
