Just went to Lowes and spent 2 bucks on different length bolts to try out. After driving for 3 days its starting to loosen up and move around a bit. This should help though.

You can...but would need to modify it extensively for it to work with any real effectiveness as montrealyellow did.

Here are pics of it open. It is just a liquid overflow can so the fumes zip right through from one fitting to the next:

I have always bought every can I see on the market and examine them in detail, then install them on the same car (2000 SS with 200k miles on it) to do the pull-through test and then measure the amount that pulls through VS what is actuall trapped and contained. They range from less than 50% trapped to 98% plus.

The Ebay unit your link is to is awesome looking and can have other uses, but I think Motrealyellow's mod to it has made it pretty dang effective. Just need him to do the pull-through test to see.

I've looked around but can't find anything with the same thread pattern I'm to a nut and bolt supplier this weekend to see if I can find something to work

SInce it is into plastic you wont need the exact same thread. A lag type bolt will work...the stock one cuts its own threads as it is tightened in from the factory and some are over tightened already, some are just fine. So a lag bolt 1/4 in or so longer and slightly larger diameter is what we now include in the V6 kits.

This is what I had, a eBay one I got as a gift. It worked when the car was NA, but after the FI set up it didn't catch sh!t. So I recently installed the Rx one and I love the way it looks.

Are you guys who got the injen paying extra for the internal heat shield? One site listed it for an extra $50 or so. Yes, I just ordered the polished can/breather from Tracy. Can't wait to do my first mod.

Inferno, why didn't you go for the one build for FI? That way it catches oil when in boost or vacuum.

BTW, that Wipple looks sweet!

You talking about this?

http://www.injen.com/docs/products/listing.asp?pcc=ac

I would think the hydroshield would be sufficient. Even though the filter is down near the wheel well, it's almost fully surround by the splash guards (although there is a small gap underneath).

At Carid they are listing an internal heat shield option for $56 in addition to the sale price.
http://www.carid.com/2010-chevy-cama...ke-111832.html

Not impressed with the lack of details their site gives on this option.

I have been noticing my breather filter is getting very dirty. It almost looks like it is getting oil on the filter with how fast it got discolored. Tracy have you been getting any feedback on the breather filters getting saturated with engine oil?
