I went through Bank America for financing and they have specific relationships with certain dealers....I got my 2011 2LT w/RS Package for $1405 below Invoice. Paid $29k before sales tax. Great deal...as good as yours is...you could do better by using a credit union or a bank for financing.

WOW is that possible, from everything I find $500 off invoice is a sweet deal, was there other fees?

No, I also got a great interest rate for 60 months 2.75%. Fred Beans Chevrolet in Pennsylvania...and they delivered the car to my home in NJ 70 miles away. If you go to B.A. website...you can build your own car...they then email you back with participating certified dealers with their estimates off of invoice for the car you just spec'd out. I literally received 3 calls in a half hour from 3 dealers and negotiated on the phone without ever having to step in a dealership. Once I knew my price based on the discount, I applied for the loan through B.A. and the rest was history. Easiest purchase ever made.

This is the way to do it! After you test drive your vehicles, there's no need to step foot inside the dealership again!

That's what the internet is for. I haven't haggled with a dealership over a price in well over 10 years.

<$1,405> ---- no way - you got hit with the freight. probably more like $1,405 minus, what is it $765 DPC? **

There's probably only like 500-600 dealer holdback from invoice in these cars, there's like no markup in them.

**which is still a great deal

Partially correct....there was a hold back of $300...net off invoice was $1,105.00. When I locate the email with the buyers order and email from B.A....I will scan. You don't even have to apply for the loan on B.A....just build your vehicle and request quotes from dealers. Not sure where you're located but they will usually pull from your general area.

For 2011 it's a great deal. I would check the site for 2012 pricing when available to see what price is off of invoice.

2012

this is for 2011, no tax?, dlr adv.fees, or documentation, battery fee and tire fees. delivery fee? where is all this written, i would back off if i was you and do more research big time, and get someone to go over this with you who is informed.. also remember dlr holdback..at least $600 on up.
that means, in case you did not know, GM for instance will hold back $600 or more from this dealer, when they sell this car, they get the $600 back, now you will pay this $600 in higher cost of car, and he gets your $600, then$600 from gm..cool quick profit from uninformed consumer..good luck.

That is not what the holdback is. Before you give advice to others, you should make sure it's accurate and you know what you're talking about.

Dealers obtain loans from the manufacturer in order to get cars from the factory. The holdback is money that the manufacturer ends up paying the dealer that basically covers the interest of those loans in order to make the process cost effective for the dealer.

Dealers make so little money on the actual sale of the car that a big part of me feels it's almost unethical to try to squeeze some of these dollars out of their pockets. Dealerships need to stay in business and pay their employees. If the $300 does you in, you should probably look at a different car, a less expensive one.

But I do agree with the advice to slow down. A car is a big purchase and there are lots of Camaros. It's not like you need to rush and buy one - that usually means you'll pay more than you needed to. Find the right car at a good price at a decent dealership and you're all set. Don't rush it or it easily could be a big mistake in one way or another. Trust me when I say that if it doesn't work out, then it wasn't the right car!

Good luck!
