I don't have any plans on the Aisin 6 speed. That is a totally different animal all together.

Unfortunately I don't know of any dealers in Bay area I can recommend. If I could do all the TR6060's out there, I would.

Rick... you mentioned before that GM came out with a carbon blocker for 2nd gear only. Did that change or is replacing the blocker for 1-4 your own work?

I sourced the carbon blockers (1-4) from a supplier that I don't want to make public yet. I can tell you that they are made in Germany and not made in Mexico. GM dealer will only install the updated 2nd gear blockers but not the rest if it's under warranty.

Does this have anything to do with hitting a wall while shifting into 3rd gear at high RPMs?

I think that's a different problem. This is for 2nd gear issue only.

I'd be interested in the parts if you can get them from your source!

OK, I had it assembled yesterday but it was late. Now for the assembly pictures.

The bell/front cover cleaned and ready to assemble.

First, second gear and 1-2 synchro assemble. Rear main bearing ready to be pressed on.

Third gear is installed along with 3-4 synchro.

The mainshaft and countershaft installed to set the preload.

The countershaft end play is measured and logged.

You can see the bronze fork pads here on 1-2 and 3-4 forks.

The main case is on for the last time.

The overdrive gears have been installed and you can see the bronze fork pads on 5-6 shift fork.

Reverse gear and reverse synchro installed. Rear support bearing and the speed sensor reluctor wheel also installed.

Tailshaft housing is installed for the last time.

This transmission is waiting a LS9 dual disc clutch assembly so the car should be ready to test drive next week.
