I had a similiar experience. I was calling GM before they announced that they were actually going to make the camaro. The first time I called I got some guy. He said that yes they are going to make the camaro and they were giving posters and key chains to the people that called asking about it. I asked If he was joking and he said no not joking and asked for my mailing address and told me I should see my camaro poster and keychain within 3-4 weeks. well I was pretty excited. I waited and 4 weeks go by and no poster. another 2 go by no poster. I thought well I'll call back and see whats up. I called back and this time it was a woman. She said she had no information on the camaro and didn't not know if they were going to make it or not. I asked about the poster and keychain. She said that she had never heard of anything like that. But Maybe the guy was just getting annoyed with all the calls about the camaro? I dont know but it wasn't cool. Its not like I asked for it. He said that was what they were doing. oh well....

Given a brake? Oh Break... no way... the guy INSISTED they had NOT started production yet... got in my face about it.. was rude and arrogant and insistant...
I've fired jerks like that who worked for me... get the facts first before answering... he could have said 'let me check' since I was so positive... but no he told me someone had misinformed me and that the production wont start for a while yet.... Duh.....
I had to hang up before I lost control

Lolzzz yea i hate when things like that happen, when i went to order my camaro the first time the dealership told me to go there and he would give me a $100 gas voucher if ordered from him.. i went there and the guy wasnt there (within 30 minutes) then i call a week later to find out what happened and he said he called me that night ring ring ring and it went straight to voicemail and said that the inbox was full... THAT NEVER EVER GOT FULL 3 messages max... So i went looking for him! he disappeared.

... what can you expect from an Indian call center... I wonder how many US jobs GM could save/createif they brought that back to NA ??

I hope their call centres aren't like some other companies, whereby their located half way across the world, and as ususal don't know anything about the product they represent.

lol that's why you always ask the operators name so you can tell the management who doesn't know wtf they're talking about and is arguing with customers...

OR

You can call back and ask for "so&so" the you can say
"SOOOOOOOO......DIDJYA FIGURE OUT THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CAMAROS SITTING ON THE LOT IN OSHWA???:

I just found a GM customer support complaint site... I'm going to see if I get a response on this lack of information their phone center has and how they (he) acted...

My dealer again today said that no camaro's would be sold before May 6th. I am sick and tried of all this misinformation from both side. I am about ready to say forget this and look at something else.

This happened to me as well when i called, in fact they said that production was to begin on the 23rd, and i was like no, i was just there at Oshawa today and today was the official start of production, and then she was like oh, and then she said somehting something. She was very nice though

The good news is that I got an email from GM today saying they would call me monday between 2 and 4 to discuss what happened and to help get me the info I wanted. They thought the remarks were not in keeping with GM's standards for customer relations and would talk to me about it monday.. either way, I'll let you folks know what it ends up..

Hoozat, I feel for you bro! I know exactly what you are going through. Best to just pay attention to this site for whatever information you need. In this case, it is best to just wait everything out and assume things are being done and check the boards than to drive yourself absolutely crazy trying to get blood from a stone when you ask GM customer service representatives about the status of your order. You'd have more fun punching yourself squarely in the nuts and than thanking yourself later.
