The key slot is the manual trunk release in case your battery (which is IN the trunk) is not working properly.

It is necessary for replacing the subwoofer, though, which is my intent. =) I thought I'd seen pictures of it folded forward, but maybe I'm mistaken, if as you say, it can only be removed.

This shows the holes behind the vert seat (one on each side) that you need to "pop" with a screwdriver. You DO NOT need to remove the plastic trim JUST to release the seat for removal.

I was just tinkering with this in my '12 vert and was able to figure it out after taking the top trim pieces. As pony said, this can be done without actually taking any pieces out and I would assume relatively easy with the top down (It was raining a little and the garage is temporarily occupied so I couldn't try with it down). And my rear seat does fold down so I would assume the 2011s do also

trim shop made this mistake when installing my 3rd top... ripped the back of the seat where it attaches when they tried forcing it... was a pain fighting with them and the dealer to get it fixed...

per se', but there is no "pass through" like the coupes. It's basically a way to get to the subwoofer and covertible mechanisms behind the seat.

What pony said. I've heard people say stuff abou having more room for stuff but I don't really see that with the sub housing being attached to the seat and all. It does make getting to the sub extremely easy if you want to work on it , though

I guess if you took the sub out (as I have, since I have one in a box in the trunk) it gives you a hidden compartment you could use. There is a bit of room back there. Big enough for a small duffel bag full of cocai--I mean, big enough for a makeup bag or something.

The Backseat folds down? The dealer never showed me that and by looking at it I never thought it could

No the back seat does NOT fold down in a Vert.

In a coupes, yes, in a Vert, no.
