Maybe somebody has parents that didn't love them enough to teach them how to drive stick. I still haven't had a chance to learn. I think I'm going to cry...

This sounds like my 80-yo father-in-law... Performance cars are meant to be actively driven. I actually enjoy it for the same reason I enjoy riding a motorcycle. Gotta have some coordination...

Actually, I'm teaching my 17-yo son to drive manual transmission in the SS. He's afraid, but learning quick. I tell him that his grandmother drove a 62 Vette and had no problem shifting, so stop being a ***** and man-up!

I don't understand why stick vs auto is such a religious war. Get what YOU like to drive and please don't dis the other folks for not being like you.

That's like putting SS badges on an LS.
Because it looks better. I think the automatic shifter plate with the little black plastic piece is ugly. For me, the boot making it look like a manual is just a side effect. Plus, you'll find plenty of automatic cars that have a boot around the shifter instead of a plate. It's just a different style. It's doesn't mean somebody is posing.

Wow! That looks great. The tall basic looking auto shifter has always looked out of place to me. Thanks for posting.

What about gray stitching? I too like the look but want it to match my gray on black interior.

Oh, and for you auto bashing guys, us auto guys "tap" through gears rather than "row" whenever we wish. Less power loss between shifts and added safety with both hands on the wheel are additional benefits. If it's good enough for Formula 1 and Champ cars it's good enough for me. To each his own. To me, these autos are the best of both worlds and I drove a manual for years. I love tap shifting. Why have a clutch if you don't need it? Not trying to change your opinion just open your eyes. These are not the autos of yesteryear.

Only stitch color options I know of are IOM and SGM and SW (all on black leather). Maybe Fesler would do a custom tho if you asked.

If anyone wants to send us the unit we can change it out to anything they want.

Are there any deals with like an exchange for the base non leather knob for the shifter? I would like to get the boot, but i don't think it'd look good with a non-leather shift knob.
