Not true. The K&N Air Charger setup is the one that has been known to cause the CEL.

Yeah the air charger can throw a CEL because of the oiled filter messing the Mass air sensor.. the typhoon is not oiled

Too many choices and it's been debated so many times and there's BS being put out about the K&N by people that don't have a clue.
The Typhoon is an oiled filter-system. The Aircharger has thrown codes on some for getting too much air and being out of tolerance for the maf. Not every Aircharger has issues on every car and it may be fine on one car and throw a code on another. Some codes are thrown due to install.(I remember reading on here almost a year ago of someone blaming his Injen for a code and it turned out to be his gas-cap.) Nobody is willing to admit there's isn't the best or one of the best. In the Janetty test they were all within 5hp. These aren't Nascar cup cars or pro-stockers. You won't even notice the 5hp.

I think its a frame that is made to draw air up to your filter so when you are in high speed it can create somewhat a ram air effect.
Have anyone been able to check the maf air flow rate after this install? What I really like is the idea of utilizing the driver side fog light hole when using a long tube style like the injen or AEM. It look like its a direct contact with air since the filter is visible right there through the hole instead of using something to direct air. I forget who, but I think there's a female on here already using the idea but I think I asked how is she able to control water when it rain since the water will get directly onto the filter unless there's a easy way to plug the fog light hole on and off easily. |
