If it's an SRT-6 you are toast. A fellow C5 member here has both an SRT-6 and and SS with the L99. When they were both stock he raced the two and he said the SRT was pulling on his SS. That car is an absolute rocket.

Crossfire SRT-6
C/D-TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 5.1 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 12.4 sec
Street start, 5–60 mph: 5.5 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.5 sec @ 107 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 154 mph
Braking, 70–0 mph @ impending lockup: 157 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.90 g

I don't see how a mid 13 second car with a V6 can pull on a high 12-low 13 second car with a V8.

Thats one test showing 107mph. How many mags have you seen where they show the LS3 camaro in a range of 112 - 109 depending on who is testing them. My point was to show that a STOCK SRT-6 will beat a V6 Camaro. A car trapping at 107 will do better than a mid 13 with the right 60ft. I have seem L99 owners post 1/4mile mph that are no better than that stock.

The SRT6s are quick cars for sure. Remember they are basically an SLK32 AMG in a different wrapper.

I know it will beat a V6 Camaro, but I just can't see it pulling on an SS.

I have to agree with you. I am trapping 104 and pulled 13.5 with 2.18 60' so a car that is trapping 107 will do better than mid 13's with the right 60'

but regardless of that, for op's question a base crossfire wont have a chance with a base v6 camaro but anything is possible depending on who is driving. I can beat a zr1 if the driver is crappy and im not.

Ya... I think I might have taken things off topic a bit... Sorry OP. I was just really impressed with the car, so I thought I would chime in.

The best V6 launches (quickest 60') I've seen for the automatic have been described this way:

- Left foot on brake.
- Use right foot and hold RPMs around 1,000 to 1,100 RPM
- When the last yellow light in the tree lights up release the brake and push her to the floor.

We have seen guys hit a 2.0 60 foot doing this, but then again its not common. Hopefully the 18s won't spin too bad off the line doing this because if you get a bad launch that could spell trouble!

Good luck! Keep us posted!!

good advice, its all about the launch, after that just keep the pedal down and the wheel straight.

Here is what I have posted for others, GOOD LUCK

1/4 tank of fuel is plenty, make sure you use 93 octane for the week leading up to the event os that you have that fuel in the tank, helps keep from pulling timing on the high RPM's

Automatic, is a good thing easier to drive. Go with sport mode.

Turn the traction control off and do a dry burnout getting your 1 tire on the hot side.

DO NOT GO THRU THE WATERBOX. A NO-NO for street tires.

At the line turn the traction control back on.

Put your left foot on the brake and bring the RPM's up to 1000.

At the last yellow release the brake and hammer the gas.

Hold on end enjoy the run.

Set the rear tire PSI to 25psi (Better traction, I plan to go lower next time out)

Set the front tire PSI to 40. (Less rolling resistance, I have gone higher)

Good luck, be sure to post up in the drag racing section your time slip and results.
Fixed it for ya

Heating up the tires. You can do a two-wheel burn out with an open-differential if you know what your doing. It just takes practice.
