I checked with my dealer today and TPW is still 3/23/09. And recently went from 3300 to 3400. I am now sh!tting my pants if there will be a long delay. A short delay will be ok for me but anything past 1st May willl be disasterous as I want for that day for my kids Birthday!

You may have a VIN by now. If not, you should by Friday evening.

I think so... The Ed Peper message says three interesting things:

1) Only after those reviews are completed will ship to commerce begin.
2) Unveiling Activity May 6, 2009.
3) As the units are produced and released for shipment, they will be reassigned to a dealership and then shipped.

Combine that with the notion of:

1) My CSR said that cars are being produced but are not being shipped to dealers until a later date.
2) fbodfather spoke about the Camaros in the GM lot are awaiting manufacturer fixes before they can be considered complete.
3) There are no confirmed deliveries yet in Canada?

Sounds to me like GM (Canada anyways) is/has produced a bunch of pre-oders and dealer cars (again some may be on the GM lot awaiting manufacturer fixes) and they intend on a mass delivery effort to co-ordinate the unveiling activity for May 6th. Perhaps they want cars in the showroom at about the same time we take delivery... likely for sales reasons.

Maybe it's just me...

If that were true , the V8 that had the same TPW as mine (23/03/09) would be "pushed back" with me all the way to May. It was only pushed back to April 6th.

I think we are going to find.

1) Canada's V6 ( 50% of 1st built) have been ALL pushed back by the May 6th event in the USA. Dealer V6 NOT in allotments.

2) The push to build the USA event cars has only slowed the V8's for Canada rather than having pushed them back and only because the body's are not there.

Dealers have not been made aware of ANY "event" for Canada.

I doubt Mr Pepper has any responsibly on the Canadian side of the border so his comments are aimed only at the USA.

It is possible some SENIOR brain has decided no CAMARO will be on the road in CANADA before the May 6th EVENT but why do that in Canada if it was not the case in the USA?

Matrix had the same TPW as me and he says's it has not changed for his V8.
Zone office originally pulled his and my order the same week in Feb.

Being pushed back on your TPW doesn't equate to a given delivery date. I believe they are being built, have been built or are to be built soon.... but delivery is another deal onto itself. I'll await confirmation of an actual Camaro delivery before I'll re-think the information.

I agree that Mr Peper doesn't speak for Canada and maybe May 6th is a US only date but if the US is doing an unveil .... then it's not a stretch for Canada to do the same (whatever the date).

Or course... I may be way off base too!

Cheers!

I checked with my dealer again today. No constraints on V8... just hurst shifter. Luckily I dont have that shifter.

There was no push back of TPW/build date. Nothing has been constrained on my order.

At least for now!

OH.. I don't have constraints on mine either.!!

No constraints on the dealers V8 ...just a "PUSHED BACK" TPW.

Just a REVISED production week FOR BOTH.
