I probably would have done the same thing. The opposite happened to me this past Friday at a car meetup at one of the local dealerships. I was leaving the show with my windows down, when a kid about the same age (13) says "Can I get a Ride?!!" When I said "Sure!", all of his buddies had that look of "This guys is cool!" Ha ha! I wasnt' actually going to give him a ride, especially when he said that he wanted a ride to McDonald's...Uhhhh...no food or drinks in the IOM, sorry...

bro, I don't know if this was a misspelling or intentional, but in either case it's funny as hell.....

It's not intentional, but it is becoming his trademark

He has been doing much better lately, and a trademark quirk isn't always a bad thing...

Classic, and a good reason to get rid of the stock exhaust.

That also comes in handy when some kid pulls up next to you at a stop light in a Civic with a fart pipe.
He'll quickly decide they don't want race once they get an ear full.

Your riposte to the youthful wiseacre might've been all the more effective AND smile provoking all 'round, including the smart-ass, if you had invited the boys for a ride around the block that included some loud, cut-outs open, line-locked warm up, RAPID acceleration that takes us up to but not beyond the speed limit. (It's 45mph 'round here.)

I've done similar things, and the local kids are all on my side now. I've overheard them 'correcting' kids visiting the neighborhood who didn't originally share their positive opinion of my ooh soo fine Camaro.

I usually get really upset when little kids call me names and pick on me too. Oh wait...
