(I'm not sure what you mean by pre-ordering in January, since ordering started at the end of November 2010.) I pre-ordered mine before official orders could be placed in November, but didn't get to take delivery until April 23rd. Only time car was in was for the A/C recall. Has been otherwise flawless. Sorry to hear about the frustrating time you've had with yours.

Pre-ordering it means you ordered it before production started. The Verts started rolling off the assembly line Feb 1st.

My car lived at the dealership. I just traded it on a truck and I'm now positioned to get a ZL1. If it has as many problems as my SS, it will go down the road ,and I will be done with GM cars.

4- parts in, back for repairs, also a/c recall
5- back to dealer/trim shop for excessive wind noise
6- engine bay discoloration, replacement tanneau in. Verified engine discoloration, scheduled appt
7- engine bay repaint
8- top disconnecting from frame, rear window clicking, door handle cable broke, parts ordered
9- in for 2nd new top, tsb and #8s repairs

I'm right there with ya! I guess you could add my 3 trips and $300+ at the tint places for the original, and each additional tops tint replacement as a service visit, since its their fault... at my expense.

Still no fix for the pass. restraint light. It works randomly. All I know is its well documented, even w GM, so if I get in an accident and it doesn't deploy- I will own GM. And I'll personally replace all our cars!

Engine bays still discoloring; come to the conclusion that its a white clear coat issue. Haven't put the top down yet, so can't comment on the marks... wind noise is still a factor tho. All other issues were fixed.
Going in tonight for the 10th time, this time 3rd top still not securing to frame. Good times, good times!

So.... I arrive @ svc dept for visit #10. Svc Rep groans and says- now what... I take him out and show him where the top isn't seated in the channel completely. He tells me its "not that bad" and as long as its not completely out- its fine. So I show him my cell pick of it completely gaping. Still not convinced, he has me cycle the top.... out it pops. Then he tells me"well, I can't keep fixing this top for you and ordering you parts all the time..."

silly me... I forgot, its MY fault GM did a crappy design and the trim shop the dealer used screwed it up even worse... oops, my bad. So I had a few choice words after which he apologized and said he's just frustrated and his manager needs to get involved with GM about the recurring issues (perhaps that should of happened at visit #2?) Then HE asked me if id be interested in lemon lawing it....

So, there it sits... again

That stinks big time. Do these dealers think it is fun for all of us to take time etc out of our busy day to play around? The play should be with a car we purchased! They need to give you a time card to punch next time.

What gets me is the dealers are saying it's our fault. Mine tried to blame my rub marks on putting the top down when it's wet. I told him to back up a minute. I've had a convertible 17 out of the last 20 years then I pulled out my phone and showed him pics of my 95 Firebird and 69 Camaro convertibles. He then proceeded to apologize. I will reiterate my point. Design problem not user error. The problem is the folding mechanism and not the canvas.
I would lemonlaw your car if the dealer brought it up and start over.

Wish I wouldst known about these issues BEFORE I began the mods...

Ive got the entire JL Audio stereo wired in by JLA themselves, headers, tune by a specialist flown in from another state and a custom fit Magnaflow Exhaust, tint and painted stripes all which either can't, or would cost too much to have swapped over, not to mention all the mods I did myself that would have to be torn out and redone...abl, grille vents, sport bar, CAI, engine chrome etc...

I'm just screwed.

1. Dings and and a scratch discovered at delivery after the detailing. I drove the car home but brought it back the next day. They kept it for a week, including a beautiful weekend. They had to replace and paint the front bumper.

2. Trunk won't open + AC recall

- at this appointment there is no evidence of top rob but I bring up the STB. My advisor tells me that nothing can get done preemptively.

3. Trunk won't open (try 2) + replace damaged driver sider window run channel.
- they don't have the window run channel in stock
- there is now visible signs of top wear

4. Appointment next week:

- replace window run channel
- apply roof tape job

EDIT: I have to say that my salesman has been very supportive and apologetic the whole time. I have a feeling that this guy and management will do ANYTHING to make me happy which is very encouraging. I take the whole thing in a positive manner. S**t happens. I'm a software developer and I know have delivered software with bugs even with all the careful planning, design and testing in the world. When that is the case, I much prefer dealing with understanding/patient customers as opposed to the angry type.

1. Middle console coming loose after inserting and removing a standard power adapter. Fixed with out issue.

2. Oil change at 3K. Wanted changed a little sooner than expected due to heat and general wear and tear of a new engine.

No AC recall or other work required at this time. I have the extended warranty so I will not hesitate to take it in.
