Chevy Dealer Drove Me To A Mustang

Does anyone know what the turnaround time is for ordering a 2012 Mustang? Is Chevy/GM really that slow or are we just that impatient?

I'm curious, as this is my first time ordering a car...

Just that impatient.

Order an Infiniti and it's currently 12-16 weeks.

You want fast? Buy off the lot.
You want specifics? order it and wait.

However, if you come down here to this dealership, not only do you get to test drive anything that you want, we are not so proud of ANY of our stock that we won't work out a great deal.

You got a crappy dealership and unfortunately there are still some around. To run off and buy a whole different make of car just because of the dealership is just not that bright in my opinion. There are lots of other dealerships around - but I guess you really showed them...

You went to a bad dealer and I can't believe you went to diff dealers and couldn't test drive any camaros. If thats true there has to be a reason why no one wanted you to test drive a car..just saying.

Really? When I drive to the dealer in a $35,000 SUV you would think they would treat you differently then if you came with a rundown civic. Chevy dealers really can't talk the dealerships are some of the most rundown ones I have every seen. At least toyota's are all new or are in the process of being built same with ford.

Why should you be treated differently depending what you drove in with?

The dealership should treat EVERYONE well, not just the elite few that already have a nice car. That was a horribly arrogant statement

Thats my point but the previous poster said there had to be a reason that not one dealer let me test drive the camaro and Im saying no there wasn't a reason.

What dealer(s) did you go to in NJ? I had a good experience at Malouf on Rte 1 in New Bruswick. I bought my first GMC Envoy there back in '02.

I went to the one in newton, the one in clifton (which I actually kind of like), Keville chevy, and Gray chevy in pa. Ended up buying the mustang at family ford in netcong.

So you weren't able to test drive a camaro at four dealers..? Don't believe it, sorry. There's nothing wrong with your decision, you obviously did not want a camaro that much.

No I wasn't able to. I wanted a car that was good for me and this time around it was the mustang maybe in a few years Ill get a camaro but all I know is that instead of waiting months to get my camaro and by that time having it be winter I can enjoy driving my mustang during the nicest time of year.

No dealer can drive any real Chevrolet fan to a Ford! There are dealers everywhere. If one doesn't want your business and you really are a Chevrolet fan...you go to another on! You were not sold on the car and just wanted a cheap sports car. You got it! Congrats on your purchase.

Neh, don't believe you. Don't believe 4 diff dealers said it was cloudy so you couldn't test drive. As having to wait for months.. Youre wrong, I ordered mine about a month ago and expecting it any day. Or you could have gotten an '11 and drove out same day.
