You know better. There is no correlation to order date.

I honestly feel for you guys who ordered last year and are still sitting around 1100. To me, that is unacceptable. Once again, GM finds a way to piss people off.

Me? I ordered on 3/27/09. I just hope to get mine this year.

What number in line where you at your dealer? How many were they allocated in October? Did you have any constrained options on your order?

I see these people whining about not getting picked up by GM and they ordered in October. You realize the date you ordered it has NOTHING to do with when your dealer can submit your order? If you have 2 dealers, and they both got 10 allocation, but dealer A takes 8 orders the first week of preorders, and dealer b takes his first order in january, than the person who ordered in January from dealer b will get pulled before the person who ordered in late october from dealer a.

That's just how it is. I was under the impression that many of us knew this back in October. I called 10 different dealers when I was ready to order in January, and found the one with the lowest sold orders to allocation ratio. So even though I ordered in late January, my order was pulled by mid March.

If, however, you were first at your dealer, didn't have any constraints from the getgo (CGM, V6, Hurst, etc), then it is most likely your dealers fault.

Better system................. ?

I feel for you guys who ordered last year and have heard nothing about your order. I know I would be pissed if people keep cuting in line ahead of me so to speak. I think all dealers on per-orders should get equal priority reguardless of the volume of sales. If dealers are schduled to get 4 pulled, pull 3 and give the smaller dealers at least a couple slots to fill. The system GM uses is a little wacked as far as fairness to it's customers.

this is how manufacurers try to push dealers to sell more, stock more, spend more.. It's all business, and most times has to be done this way, or everyone will glide through without trying to push the limits.. IMO.

thats a big part of why i waited to order, I then found a dealer with 10 allocations and only 2 sold. Placed my order on Jan 30th and got the #3 spot!!

The ONLY place you are in line is relative to the other orders that YOUR dealer has. It does not matter what day you placed your order.. The dealer has no control of when an order gets pulled just the order they get pulled at his dealership...

Why don't people understand that?

I'm a kool-aid drinker. I've been high on the kool-aid since 1987. And I've got to spit this kool-aid out. This system of ordering/pulled orders/production dates/build dates/ and delivery works @ss-backwards of how it should be.

This system (as you describe it here) seems to rewards those dealers who are NOT pushing the Camaro as fast as the dealer down the road. So let's get this straight. Give the first run cars to the guy that doesn't sell the most. That's total That's not fair. That's not even close. That just doesn't make any sense at all to those of us who ordered in October.

The reason we ordered so fast was b/c we wanted the car and knew about it before most people EVEN KNEW that the car was slated for real-life production. In a word to describe the early orderers......................ENTHUSIASTS! Plain and simple. Diehards is another word I could use.

We wanted to be some of the first to get this car. Wanted to be the first to pay for and own this car. Ask anyone that ordered in October..............Did you order so early b/c you WANTED to wait longer than all the johnny-come-latelys that ordered in Jan.-Feb. to get your Camaro? You will get back an emphatic NO!

Of all the things about this beloved car, this is the ONE thing that pisses me and others off. Almost to the point where I say..................forget it.

But I don't want to say forget it. I am willing to wait "my turn in line". But the order of that line is in grave question. You know how it makes you feel when you go out to eat and you order and then see 2 or 3 tables get their food and they got there 15-20 minutes after you sat down? Well this is the same nasty thing.

Now I can understand the logistics of delivering an already made car. I know that the trucks have to make the most economical haul with as many cars as possible to the same confined area to be efficient. BUT this isn't an issue with me. That issue makes sense........business sense!

Making the early order cars with no constraints way down the line after all the johnny-come-latelys DOESN'T MAKE ONE BIT OF SENSE. NONE. Maybe this is the type of management that put GM in the hole to begin with. I'm not any kind of expert on Automaking, but I am a business owner. If I pulled this type of crap on my customers, I would NOT have customers.

Before anyone decides to flame me over this post, just remember that I am loyal to the brand I feel flamed already by my brand.
