www.gmconnects.com is the site I used to track the order (same as camarotracking that was listed above). You can also track on Chevy.com (Owners section) but you won't get individual status updates and it is very vague. At GMConnects you can enter your e-mail address and sign up to get updates- so for example when the car is built, you can receive notification.
I made the same decision you did; I live in NY so I couldn't get the RS package as it is my daily driver and I need all season tires. I was originally looking for a 2LT but I decided I preferred cloth over leather. So I loaded my 1LT up with nice goodies, stuff that I really wanted I LOVE the car and you will too. Believe it or not I also came from a Mazda3i - 2006 to be exact. It was tough selling that car (it was my first car) but trust me the Camaro is loads more fun. Good luck and keep us posted; the wait will be tough but it really does move fast. I ordered on 8/21 and the car was built 9/22 and I just got it last week, 10/7. Since you're on the East Coast (not far from Oshawa where the cars are built) hopefully the shipping process won't take long. Edit: Also, I should mention that I was worried about gas in the Camaro compared to my Mazda3. I know nobody buys a Camaro for gas mileage but it's still a concern to me (even though I wouldn't have any other car). From 1/4 tank the Mazda took 10 gallons and the Camaro seems to be taking 13. So it's not much of a difference, in case you're wondering. My first tank I averaged 19mpg and this one (2nd) I'm averaging 22 so far - and that's with lots of red lights and stop and go traffic. It's slowly getting better!!

I originally chose not to go with the RS package for the same reason. After some consideration and realizing halo headlamps would cost a fortune to purchase separately, I decided to go with it. I figure I have a few options for the winter if it's bad. Purchasing a beater for $1-2K, buying snow tires for the 20s, or trying to find the stock heritage steelies (from the LS). Similar to you, I didn't care for the leather interior and preferred the sport cloth. So I got the 1LT and loaded the features in. The Mazda 3 was a nice daily driver and decent in the snow. But I went from a Ford Contour to the Mazda. I think it's time I got myself a real car. |

Keep an eye on that 1100 status, if it's like that for too much longer I'd contact the dealer if you can.. they might not have the allocation yet to place the order (as it says in the update lol). Mine was at 1100 for a day and then it moved to the next status which was that the order was accepted by GM.

For me, there was a 1102 immediately after that order was place via web on Sep. 2. Then I went to 2000 three days later. This was because I ordered Friday after 4 PST and GM didn't accept until Monday. I was thankful as that was Labor Day.
BTW, I'm now at 4200 and will get my railcar number tomorrow! I just copied and pasted below to make it easier. ![]() Jim 09/02/2011 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Mine seems to be going backwards then:
10/11/2011 (1102) Order entered via web. 10/11/2011 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order. The current status is 1100. I did make a change 2 days later (the RS package), maybe that's why? |

Sometimes dealerships don't have allocation, but get it later in the month when other dealers release their unused allocations. I don't think you need to sweat it too much, at least your order is in there. These cars are not under the constraints that they were a few years ago.
