I'm curious to see if anyone ever has screwed them up to know what to avoid doing.... Knowing myself and my luck I would find a way to screw up even while following instructions.

No, the tail lights can be opened up with a dremel. No need to put them in the oven.

Only way to screw it up is to turn up the oven too high. Set the oven at 235 and put them in for 15 minutes. Then if they cool down put them back in for 5 minute intervals.

these might be a help to you located on our NY clubs website this will give you an idea of what we ran into
http://forums.ny5thgen.com/showthrea...-non-rs-camaro

http://forums.ny5thgen.com/showthrea...ro-super-sport
I was nervous too
me and my buddys did them and our club has done 3 all together
it is a bit of a job but I agree not as bad as it looks, once you get the light separated its all down hill from there, taking the bumper down is very easy once you know what to expect. Def some work but not impossible.

PM me if you have any questions id be glad to help

$400 isnt really that bad a price for NY Its quite a bit of work

this will give an idea what to expect doing after burners on your own

The after burners just take some patience but it isnt too bad and of course you have to make sure you silicon the crap out of it to ensure no leaks

What I did with both projects for peace of mind was find another set of headlights and another set of tail lights this way if I screw up the car is still usable it also makes the job easier to do the lights first before the car is apart just in case you run into an issue and have to leave the job, the separation takes time and not being on a time frame to get the car back together is huge. Plus what ever you buy them for you can sell your original assemblys for ( hell Ill probably buy them ) I took the opportunity to put RS tail lights in my car as my car isnt an RS.

GOOD LUCK

if you dont want to cut/break open your headlight. then go to ebay and get the eagle headlights. simple plug and play. but from what i read installing the halo ring isnt that hard. i wouldnt do it personally which is why i got the eagle eye headlights on mine
