I have been reading these posts for a few months. I am sad to say it was the use of a latter version of Bumblebee that caused me to become a member and post. I do not mean this personally but Bumbleebee was a bug, originally. I am only in my thirties and I feel like all this "new fangled anime" has ruined my childhood toys.

I quote from ABCnews.com:
"In the original TV series, Bumble Bee transformed into a Volkswagon Beetle and played the "little brother" role in the Autobots. Constantly trying to prove himself, Bumble Bee would regularly find himself in situations too big for the little "bug" to handle." (Hasbro)

Okay, I have given my .02. With that said, hello everyone, I am glad to be here.

Ok who's gonna make a Camaro suit to wear it to the movie. That's a pic I want to lolerz at.

Put the forum URL on the design and hang out up front at the midnight showing.

Nowadays, I think the best fit for the old Bumblebee is probably a Chevy Aveo.

Umm...that isn't the original Bumblebee either. That's from the new Animated Transformers.

Look here...you can clearly see that he was most definitely a VW Bug.
(His "remake" was named GOLDBUG)

And while I think they did a good job with Bumblebee as a Camaro, it did change his original character a little bit, but it wasn't all bad...
Actually the best fit for the Camaro would have been Sideswipe. All they'd need to do is make the Camaro red.

Though I'm perfectly fine with it being Bumblebee. I know this incarnation isn't meant to be a carbon copy of the G1. There have been plenty of versions of the Transformers over the years, this is just yet another.

Michael Bay demands all things to be awesome. VW Beetles are not awesome.

Rear engine, rear wheel drive vehicle that weighs nothing? Sure, the stock engines were crap for output, but they can be modded easily and could make the ultimate sleeper.

That was the biggest run-on sentence ever.

Beyond that, I thought I heard Shia on some show a few days back saying they were wrapping up filming. That still leaves editing, pre-and-post production.

He's not "the small guy" anymore (Heck, he weighs close to 4000 lbs! )

I know that Bay didn't want to have Bumblebee resemble Herbie but still...why not a Mini Cooper?

Sunstreaker should be the Camaro
No believe it or not Windcharger (also a Mini-bot,and croaked in the '86 movie) would be a perfect fit as a Camaro that was his G1 form.

My bad he looks to be a Pontiac,my bad

For some reason I don't believe that you saw the movie considering you can't even spell the title.

I love the Transformers as a kid and now. Going to see the movie cause the first one was down right awesome, yeah having the Camaro in it is a plus. And yes the original Bumblebee was a VW bug.
