I agree with ucf, their planning on marking them up.
If they were planning to mark them up significantly, wouldn't they have sold him one? He did have his checkbook in hand.

If they really don't know, I would go back and suggest they call their regional rep while you are there. A town of 85,000 should have an allocation of at least 8 or 9 cars. I'm buying mine in a town of less than 30,000 and they had an allocation of 4.

To answer the OP question, YES, GM has been taking orders since Oct. 13th and has sold more than 14,000 pre orders. Straighten your dealer out or find one that gives a $hit.

Well call Tommy Jr. at McMulkin Chevy in Nashua, NH- supposed to be just over the line from Massachusetts. I GUARANTEE he knows all about them. He sold me my Vette at a nice discount and it was shipped to a dealer near me in Georgia from the factory.

You don't have to order from your local dealer guys! And you don't have to drive your new car half way accross the country or have it shipped either! Just find a dealer who knows about the cars. Don't know whether Scotty arranges to have them shipped to your home state or not, but I think a lot of dealers know how to do this. I know Tommy, Jr. does.

Maybe they are on the brink of closing their doors. With the knowledge they have I would not doubt it.

Where have they been with all the hype on this car?? From Jay Leno to all the new Chevy commercials to any of their chevy paperwork!!!! Sure do - that's why our first car is going to Fairbanks Alaska!

I had a similar situation here in Connecticut: I brought in a printoff from the Camaro.com website with options and colors I wanted [also showing pricing] and had them write up the deal from my printout, and they ordered the car the following Monday. I stopped at the dealer a few days later to pickup the workbench sheet to confirm the order and make sure the options were correct--done deal! I'm #1 on the dealer list for sure. Have your dealer go onto the GM website, or bring a laptop in to show 'em

Mikelj,

Send a message to Scotty. He's one of the cooliest dealers around. You can trust him.

I'll bet he can set you up with the Camaro of your choice and you'll enjoy the process.

Email him right now and find out the scoop.

This is news to me, so far I haven't heard of this "culling" before.. All the price gouging dealers are still around as far as I know..

Tons of us on here have ordered cars. Many have cars that have been built (but not delivered yet) already.
Maybe they are closing their doors soon. Many small dealers are closing.

I drop ship and I have done it before. Most local dealerships will charge a delivery fee.
